The price of coffee is going through the roof. 6 months ago I paid $16.99 for 3 pounds of Costco Kirkland Colombian Supreme dark roast. It’s now $24. The 120 pods for the Keurig were available for under $30 on sale, now $45. The crop plus tariffs I guess. Some people drink this all day, fortunately I just have 1 cup in the am.
While I’m complaining about coffee prices has anyone bought a steak lately? We are talking sticker shock. Even the free supermarket flyers don’t show sales on them anymore. Chuck roast was “on sale” for $8 a pound. Lately I’ve been trying to convince myself that a hamburger is steak.

For steak - I highly recommend picking up a package of steak tips. We get them at a market basket in RI for about $18-$24 per package (enough for 3 people). Cut them proper for the grain into chunks of about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Marinade in 3 tablespoons of Memphis rub (make your own, it’s easy), add 1 tablespoon of oil, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.

Sautee in butter on low heat for 4-5 minutes. (I use number 2 on a gas stove - heat the pan up for a couple minutes, and quickly get the steak in when the butter hits the pan to avoid burning the butter).

This comes out delicious, and it’s the best cheap steak you can really get.

Yes, the price of coffee has gone up so much in the past couple months. I really enjoy Lavaza, but it has gone from six or seven dollars a bag to $14 to $16 a bag. It is ridiculous. The price of beef has also gone up significantly. Inflation is alive and well at the grocery store.

Tariffs on a product we don't produce domestically can't stimulate domestic production, they just raise prices. I'm drinking crappy coffee now because I can't afford the good stuff anymore. I also don't eat beef anymore.

Hear you. Wife went to Ocean State Job Lot and picked up some coffee. Nope. It was a waste. Gonna bite the bullet on the Kirkland Columbian. Figured out the increase is about 10 cents a cup. I don’t want to sound cheap obsessing about coffee but has anyone gotten their car and house insurance renewals lately? Consumers attacked from all angles and I guess it goes for Husky tickets too.
