First time on the 2022 version of this thread, always one of my faves...perhaps due to the sheer prognositcation of it all and how quickly the results happen (compared to recruiting, for instance). Some thoughts on people and programs thus far (on top of UVA, which a few of us have spent a lot of lines on...;)); - Megan Duffy, current head coach of Marquette. I think her grad. student/senior class line-up is topping out after this year and she should explore getting out to the right place. To me, the right place could be UVA, which is the kind of program she's played/coached at under her mentors, MM (ND) and Kim-Barnes Arrico (UM). Reiss should be on that interiew list, but Ms. Williams would be wise to talk to Duffy. - BTW, if Duffy does head to UVA (or anywhere), Carolyn Kieger should call Marquette ASAP and beg to come back. This move to Happy Valley has been anything but for her. Expected a step forward this year, but cha-cha'd backs a few steps. Not good. - UVA: Take some time and interview a wide range of candidates with no preconceived ideas. Try Reiss, Shauna Green, Duffy. - Shauna Green. Knows the midwest from coaching at Dayton (well) and also being at Loras (Iowa) and Northwestern for a year. So, Illinois could work, for sure. Think she's ready for the move up, whether here or UVA. Heck, could even see her at Syracuse... - Syracuse. Felicia Legett-Jack should be a required interview. However, if that doesn't work out, why not talk to Reiss (who worked there) or Shauna Green? - Kim Barnes Arrico. She's so Jersey-Long Island, which actually works well for Michigan, but I can't see her at Texas A&M no matter how much money is thrown at her. However, if Rutgers does open up....she might want to "come home" to Jersey and she'd clean up recruiting the Jersey shore. (Remember, Katelynn Flaherty was from there....) - Texas A&M. Agree with the idea that the person would benefit from having some Texas tie-ins, given how the state is a recruiting gold mine. But Texas A&M likes to hire big, so maybe they'll flash a lot of cash. Or, maybe they'll copy cat a competitor. How about Vickie Johnson, current coach of the Dallas Wings who was also with the San Antonior Stars? She's from Louisiana Tech and is working with a really young team in the Wings? Supposed to have a firm, calming presence. -
