A lot of people are talking about matchups but I want to discuss coaching matchups. I think Iowa State has a good young coach, but this is his first head coaching gig (i'm pretty sure) and his first tournament. I have to say we have the coaching advantage, and I am excited to see what Calhoun impliments. My gut feeling knowing Jim is that he is going to throw it to the post and try to jam it down their throats. However, I would like to see a small line up and run with these kids. We are more athletic and think we can take advantage. I am not a HOF coach though, regaurdless I think we have the edge on coaching so will have to see if the vet can school the rookie.

Defense

If Uconn can ratchet up the defense, circa 2011, they have a shot to beat anybody.

They just haven't shown the ability to produce that kind of consistent defensive effort in 2012.....yet

I agree with you on the latter approach, we should get out and run and push the tempo. It seems like whenever the team has come out this year trying to get the bigs going from the beginning it seems to disrupt the flow and Bazz & Lamb get out of sorts. I have no problem with AO & AD getting their touches but let it be in the flow of the game, I would really like to see us try to get Lamb off from the onset like the DePaul & WVU games.
