If I was voting, I probably would have ranked So Carolina 1st, ND 2nd, Baylor 3rd and UConn 4th.

Even though UConn didn't lose, they weren't impressive in their win and So Carolina was.

I'd probably have South Carolina and Baylor ahead of ND and UConn right now. Btw, don't let the final score fool you, ND didn't exactly light it up against Fordham last night. ND turned the ball over 16 times and its lead was only 15 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Fordham is a well coached, underrated team, but it nearly matched ND shot for shot in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

Yes, I was surprised to see UConn ranked second with as many first place votes
as Notre Dame after last night's shaky win at FSU.

4 of the top 12 already have losses, less than a week into the season. I don't think we'll see 2 undefeated teams in the NC game in April. The Final Four teams will have about 10 losses combined--or more.

Being honest. At this point in time after watching all of these teams I have:

1) ND
2) Baylor
3) South Carolina
4) Maryland (tie)
5) UConn (tie)
6) Stanford
7) Louisville
8) Mississippi State
9) Ohio State
10) Texas

A win or a close loss to Baylor would move The UConn out of any tie with MD no matter how Frese does this week. A win would move them into 3rd with SC 2nd.

I would have SC as #1 and Baylor #2. ND has 2 wins against cupcakes at home so lets see how they do when they play a ranked team on the road. Is uconn the only team that starts the season on the road against ranked teams?

Doesn't matter to me at all this point in the season. Rankings all play out on the court and in the NCAA tournament at the end.

The coaches poll is garbage. It follows a simple win=move up, lose=move down philosophy and very little thought.

The AP media poll is better, though even that suffers from the lack of fully knowledgeable voters.
