Little Carolina got 20 first place votes... NC got 7 first place votes, and Louisville got 5 first place votes. Evidently at least 5 coaches sent their votes in before 7pm EST.

I hereby declare war on triaddukefan. I have not yet allied myself with any UN-Carolina fans but they may join me.

This is what happens when they just mail them in. Those 5 coaches voting for Louisville #1 apparently did not get the memo the game was on last night.

Please don't show this Coaches Poll to @Lorcan.

"Little Carolina" the Dookie said. Do something and then get back with us. Until then.. Silence.

.-.
NCSt has beaten 2 No 1 teams, one on the road and their loss came without their AA center.

I agree and did not post it to crow about SCar being No. 1. I believe in head to head being a bigger factor than quality of loss. They beat us. Until they suffer another loss, they should be number one.

I wonder why the press likes UConn more than the coaches. Rolleyes

Based on last nights performance, I can't deny that NS State is clearly #1 right now. Very impressive performance against Louisville. They are going to be a tough out in the tournament if they stay healthy.

Agree NC State may be a tough out in the tournament but do not read too much into a win over UL. Review who UL has beaten. Not all that impressive. They may be somewhat overrated.

nothing but respect for what Staley has done down in Columbia. Been a fan of hers since she was running PG up in Charlottesville. Trust me.. you don't want to align with that bunch

Not to turn this into a geography thread, but SC is approximately 32,000 square miles as opposed to the 52,000 or square miles of big brother NC. So technically SC is Little Carolina. Next time I will use Lower Carolina as not to ruffle any fowl feathers. :p

.-.
Just go ahead and hang the banner and be done with it. No one will respect it, but it's not like that changes anything.

mans what does that have to do with my post that you quoted?

mans we don’t do banners til the season ends.

Not surprised SC shoots to #1, but I think the coaches have it out for Uconn. Barely beat Stanford for #5, and can't believe UCLA is ahead of Uconn. If we don't beat SC we may not be in the top 10. LOL ( I think ). It doesn"t matter what they say, we are still #2 in the net. I think the game Monday is for the overall seed in the tournament. Lets not take a chance, WIN, BIG.

I thought age determines who is little and who is big brother? SC is older than North Carolina so therefore NC is "little brother".

If we lose to South Carolina then we probably drop out of top 10?

.-.
What a joke. NC State beat South Carolina and is ranked behind South Carolina?
To the voters "head to head" is not the only thing that matter. Tennessee has beaten Kentucky, Indiana, and Arkansas. Yet Tennessee is ranked behind all 3 in the AP. Personally I think NC State should be ranked #1. However lets not act like this is something egregious.

Ok, we need EVERYONE, ANDI MEAN EVERYONE, to write, tweet, TikTok the Writers and all the voting coaches that NC State beat SC and only lost a game due to Cunnane being out of the lineup as there’s is NO WAY I want SC#1 in any poll in case the NCAAT for women gets cancelled again to have Dawn start with her ridiculous rhetoric of “we’re #1”....Just sayin...

Or until we beat them next week...

UCLA has lost two games and has had three close games against unranked teams, including one that went into overtime.

Geography? Now you're equating size with quality? Is that what you are doing? Poor little Connecticut is only 5,500 square miles. There's barely enough room to put another National Championship trophy.

UConn doesn't do it until the tournament ends

In the South Carolina - NC State game, Cooke and Henderson went 5 for 31. That wouldn't happen again.

However, Jada Boyd missed the game, and she was a huge facto against Louisville. So NC State really deserves to be #1.

To settle the Carolina controversy, how about instead of Little Carolina, we just say Lesser Carolina.

Man, UConn might be a tough out in the tournament, but do not read too much into a win over Tennessee. Who has TEnene

Washington State was ranked 25. UCLA’s 2 losses are to two Top 10 teams.

You should schedule a game with us so we can end who is better!!!! HAHA

Lets face it guys, the coaches don't like Uconn. So what's the big deal, its been that way the last 15 years. Like Geno has said, the Yankees, love them or hate them, the Celtics, love them or hate them, Uconn, love them or hate them. There is only one part of the population that we care about, and thats High School basketball players. They have been watching Uconn ever since thay have been able to pick up a ball. In High School they just want to do one thing, win, win, win. What do they see Uconn do? Win, win, win. As long as they can see that, we will never have a problem attracting top notch talent. Because what do we care about? Win, win, win.

Polls are pretty useless this year due to the pandemic. For many teams their wins or losses are mostly to conference opponents. So if the conference was good last year pollsters assume it is this year even when most top players graduated. Saying "they only lost 2 games to top ranked teams is meaningless when those teams are in your conference if it is overrated. I've watched a ton of women's games this year and have been mostly unimpressed by PAC12 or ACC. Some good teams but no clear top team. SEC has gome really good teams and some real clunkers. Poor DePaul has 4 losses but 2 are to UConn. I really have seen little of interest from the Big10. So looking at the rankings 3 conferences dominate the rankings. Maybe true but also maybe not.

I want to know what 5 coaches watched that Louisville/NC State game last night and thought Louisville was still the #1 team?

IMO, Louisville has never been the best team, but that win over DePaul and losses by everyone propelled them to that spot. I mean, they should've lost to VaTech and Wake Forest.
