Coaches don't march???

Somewhere I read that the coaches of all of our Olympic teams [and presumably other countries as well] are not allowed to march in the opening ceremonies. Bad idea...imo.

Idle question: I wonder how many of the Auriemmas are in London? Both daughters, son-in-law, son, Kathy, Mom A, brother....probably more....a gaggle of Geno's relatives at a minimum.

Stated reason was to speed up the procession. For countries like the US, coaches probably are as numerous as athletes. I think they could compromise and allow 'x' number of coaches per 'team' or a ratio of 1 coach per 10 athletes or something like that with the 'teams' choosing how to allocate the spots - Geno and Doug and Jennifer having already marched could defer to others who haven't.
