This story reminds me of an encounter with Calipari once. Me and DogMania were at ABCD in 2004 (coming off a national championship of course) and saw Calipari at a pizza place down the street having lunch with one of his assistants. DM, being a UMass alum, went up to Calipari and said he appreciated what Calipari did at UMass but then admitted he was now a UConn fan. Calipari says, "You chose the wrong school to root for." I immediately interject, "No, he chose the wrong school to attend." Calipari was not amused but I laughed all day about it.

He was cool, acknowledged being beaten. I would have said, "No apologies, too many broken hearts." I'd have liked to have added, "Watch out this year, I don't think Coach Ollie likes only batting .500."
