Club seats at Rent

I was toying with the idea. Just to do it and see whats up. Anybody have any info on this?

So worth it if you can swing it. You will love it on rainy/freezing cold days. I used to have blue section seats (201) when I still lived up there but got to sit in the club seats one rainy night (it was an epic win against Rutgers, don't remember the year). I really appreciated the comfort. You will however sacrifice some of the "game day experience" by being so high up and isolated behind glass. I think the windows are opened in nice weather.

I have them. I would donate more than that amount to the school anyways, so I don't consider it a big expense.

I'm an old dude, love the comfort. I have always liked to sit high up for football. That's a plus. Martini bar and short lines, even waitresses, are all very nice. They put out a free spread, usually pasta, nothing great. There are a ton of TVs for replays and close ups. It is definitely more civilized.

It is a bit removed from the stadium experience. I will go down and walk around the stadium at halftime on occasion. I can understand that it isn't for everyone. I enjoy them.

I forget what game it was two years ago but it was piss cold at The Rent so my buddy and I went up to the club level to watch it while pretending to be interested in buying club seats. Back then we were offered seats for $100 a game if we bought them for the entire next season, I don't think that included the donation, etc. It's nice up there and includes a buffet, stocked bars, clean bathrooms, etc. In the end we decided against it because it just doesn't feel like you're at the game if you don't freeze your butt off or have to wait in line for the bathroom. The atmosphere was pretty tame as far as cheering goes.

If you like the luxury of the whole thing I was very surprised that the tix were only $100/game and it seems well worth the cost if that's the type of game day atmosphere you'd enjoy.

I don't understand the appeal to be honest. If you want to watch the game in a room, why not just watch on tv?

It depends on what you do at games. If you're like me and have a foul mouth at times and like to let your opinions be heard out loud than they are not for you. Friends of ours had 4 seats up there and my wife would go and sit up there with them on colder days. The USF game a few years back with the wet snow was her favorite. I, on the other hand, sit in the stands with my buddy. After 4 hours of tailgating my inhibitions are not the best for being inside with older fans who are ok with sitting and drinking their wine and watching from up there. (No bashing here, just stating a fact)

To me, it's just not the same atmosphere as being in the stands and having fun and talking with others. Just my two cents

To put it in simpler terms it's well worth it and far from a pile of turd.

I came very close to buying 4 seats up there but realized I would have been the only turd in the pile. I need to be able to curse, dip, scream and feel the elements when I'm at a football game. That sh its frowned upon up top.

One of my tailgate partners has had club seats since season 1 at Rentschler. I used to sit up there for a game or 2 each season...but my wife would rather sit outside. The only reason we don't buy tickets up there is the atmosphere during the game. It is very bland...and the windows DO NOT open at all. We usually meet at 1/2 time on the concourse near sect 241-242 and have a beer or two.

I have my own 4 seats in the stadium, which I almost always sit in.

I have work connections to get into our corporate box pretty much every game. Most games we also have a bunch of club tickets, and there are usually extra buffet vouchers floating around. So I run up at halftime and hit the food at the club level and then run upstairs to the box and raid the fridge.

The best thing about the access is having numbered parking spots in the VIP lot. On nice days a few of us leave to tailgate at halftime and use the box tickets to get back into the stadium. It's about a 90 second walk from our section to the car.

In 10 seasons I've watched 3 quarters from inside total. If you are there for the game, the club or boxes aren't good.

I agree with what most have said so far. The biggest draw of club and box seats is the simple fact that you can go upstairs and most cannot, its mostly a prestige thing. You can pretty much go where you want, and have access to many tv's for other games and replays which is nice. At the end of the day, I think we go to the stadium for a reason which is to be part of the game experience. The glass takes the atmosphere away from the game and that's the reason I prefer to sit in my seats down below. I sat in the box twice last year for business reasons and it was fun but boring as you get distracted from the game. The main reason I pick up club tickets if they are available for certain games is to keep my wife/kids out of the snow/freezing rain. If they are happy, my tailgate continues...... If not, well, I'm goin home. All in all, a great place to visit but not for the season.

Good thing about the Club seats is the guaranteed weather (dry and 70 degrees), full bar service (if that matters to you), nice hot lunch, parking in gold lot is very convenient, and you can always go outside if you want to watch from a seat outdoors (there are plenty to choose from). I do it all the time, meet up with friends in the blue chair backs during the game from time to time.

Bad thing about Club seats is the game day atmosphere isn't as loud/involved as sitting outside. If you're the stand up and scream your head off every play person, you will definitely prefer sitting outside.

Good to know. Definitely not good for TDH then. Or, more to the point, definitely not good for those faithful fans who also would be cloistered inside.
