Clock Management Issues: We're Not The Only Ones

Nebraska just totally blew the game against Illinois with their clock management, their second CM issue this season (BYU) that cost them a game.

Scenario: Nebraska is up 6 in Illinois territory with 55 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Illinois is out of time outs, 3rd down and 8 to go. Instead of running the ball and letting 40 more seconds tick off before 4th down, Nebraska throws not one but TWO incomplete passes on the next two downs, giving Illinois the ball back with 51 seconds to play. Illinois marches down the field and wins on a TD with 13 seconds to go.

Saban had to call two time-outs today because play came in late and the play clock was running out.

Some teams have a bit more room for error than we do, but clock management debacles happen more than an occasional time or two each week.
