Not much on the website yet: PRO: 3XBA SPOKANE — 3XBA

"We’re taking center court at Spokane Hoopfest!
On June 27–28, 3XBA is hosting a Pro Women’s FIBA 3x3 tournament at the largest 3-on-3 basketball event in the world. Hoopfest draws 250,000 people to the city of Spokane each year with over 6,000 teams playing on 425 courts, which span 45 city blocks. Hoopfest is a community event that goes beyond basketball. It’s an outdoor festival with shopping, food, interactive entertainment, and now featuring 3XBA!

Our 3XBA event will feature 32 of the most elite basketball players in the country competing in the official Olympic 3x3 format. The tournament serves as a FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series Qualifier, and the winning roster will earn a bid to the Edmonton stop of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, August 1-2.

The women’s pro tournament will be hosted on Center Court on June 27th and 28th, and it will be televised and live-streamed widely. Stay tuned for more details!"

The Edmonton stop is 43 days away, with four other stops before then (although Sumgait is having issues with its link, so I could not check), which no other USA women's team are currently entered.

The overall (FIBA Women's 3x3) series can be found at this link (the just completed stop):

Happy watching of YouTube reruns!!!

Go Christyn!!! Go Strong!!!

With all the injuries in the W, as well as the players leaving for Eurobasket, I'm disappointed CW has not been able to find a home. Hopefully next year, with 24 more open roster spots and 2 new teams joining the league, she'll find a place.

If Dallas can trade Arike O or DiJonai C. (low percentage large quantity shooters), CW could be an outstanding addition to the Wings, along with Azzi (UConn make-over, with uNd & Baylor subtractions). Go Huskies!!!

I have never been an fan of either Arike or Dijonai. But for some reason, Miller really likes her. IIRC he brought her over to Dallas from the Sun when he coached her there.

Now if only he could get through to Dijonai regarding her fruitless drives to the basket. Much more often than not they result in a turnover or a missed shot (& never an assist). At least Arike, whenever she's a mind to, can pass off effectively when making a wild drive to the basket.

I guess it will all depend on whether Dallas gets the first pick but if they do, they would be very unlikely to choose Azzi over Lauren Betts! If they did, it would be one of the worst draft decisions in a long while, perhaps ever in the WNBA. As for CW, as much as I like her and wish for her success, she is a fairly average shooter with a very streaky shot, esecially from three. Of course, she is good defensively, knows the game and is a good teammate but l’m not sure she would be first choice in terms of providing Paige with a shotmaking off guard. I would think they will be looking for a better and more consistent three point shooter in order to stretch the floor for Betts. I do of course agree that Arike, DiJonai, and Nalyssa should be traded as soon as possible. Their style simply does not mesh with Paige, and never will imo.

How did a thread about Christyn turn into another Wings thread?

And a new CBA that may allow 13-15 players per roster.

Can still remember Christyn slashing to the basket or shooting a needed 3 during her UConn days. Got to give a lot of credit to her for her perseverance and determination. She has had challenges and still is trying to reach her goal. That says a ton about her character.

Christyn has a pro body. I remember Azzi describing running into her on the practice floor as like running into a brick wall. She also has pro-ready handles. I also remember all those times when she’d put the ball behind her back in traffic. No one could get it away from her. Well, there was this one kid who stole the ball from Christyn on the break, Caitlin, who was an underrated defender in college.
