It's too bad the 2020 seniors were not granted an extra year. Put Vital on the 2021 team and anything would have been possible. The 2021 team was missing a scorer.

I know the bigger life issues from COVID are for important than a sport. Having said that, as a UConn fan that always bothered me that the players on that UConn team, especially Vital, never got the chance to play postseason basketball, even if it was the NIT. Vital worked so hard and became such a great leader, he deserved that opportunity.

I agree that 2021 team that lost to Maryland would have benefitted greatly from having Vital on it.

The early Vital-Hurley battles were epic, but they got to a place of incredible mutual respect. It was worth it, and both Christian and the program are better for it.
