Hope I just missed it, but little or no mention anywhere, in all the stories and celebrations, of the glue behind so much of UConn's success. Chris is so quiet and humble, and her importance should not be overlooked.

Will CD retire before Geno? Unlikley.
Will CD retire with Geno? Probably.
Will CD retire after Geno to, as is her way, help the transition (to Shea or Carla?)? Maybe.
Regardless, it's been the Geno-Chris magic show . . . seamless, respectful, uniquely successful.

Did anyone see if CD actually climbed the ladder to cut her piece of the net? She usually wears heels and I was nervous enough when Geno went up there. Also, I assume someone cut a piece for Morgan.

Allie cut a piece for Morgan. In another video CD, always the teacher, was talking Sarah through what to do as Sarah was on top of the ladder.

She's always fashionably conscious, probably had a pair on flats and or sneakers in the trainers bags

Good CD story. 22 years ago my sons soccer team had a game in the Manchester/South Windsor area one Sunday in the fall. Afterward we took the 10 year olds to a Corn Maze in South Windsor. Ran into Chris there with the whole team. All her kids were running through the maze with our 10 year olds laughing and busting chops(of course they were competing to win the "Maze Championship"). That kind of team/family building is one of the reasons the program is what it is. Thats how Genos Associate head Coach spent many of her Sunday afternoons.

CD is a great coach on the practice court, on the game bench, in scouting/planning for upcoming games, and in evaluating potential recruits. But one of her greatest talents is in helping her players become refined young women. Example: Sarah was often on the post-game presser panel, but her shyness always inhibited her from offering much, which made her the butt of many Geno wisecracks, in good humor. But Sarah seemed to come out of her shell a little bit at the FF. I credit CD for that, and I believe that will be a continuing work in progress next year, for this AA who will be expected to fill increasingly more of a leadership role, so she'll be ready to be team captain and spokesperson 3 years from now.

OldSchooler, agree with most, however it won't take the three years you mentioned for Sarah to be captain, I don't think she will get past her Jr year without getting that position.

I think KK and Ash will be co-captains that season. Usually goes to members of the senior class.

CD isn’t crazy about meeting with the media. Too bad because like everything she does, she handles it well.

i wish ESPN would have coerced her to get on stage after the game.

Hey everyone, I totally agree that CD is the power behind the throne in the kingdom of UCWBB. With that being established, which Female character in GOT would you compare her to? Here's the list of characters.....Cersei, Sansa, Arya, Catelyn, Margaery, Olenna, Daenerys, Brienne of Tarth, or Melisandre..or do you have another? ..let me know

If you could find a link, that would be fun to look at.

I recently watched an interview with two former Duke stars, JJ Redick and Jayson Tatum, discussing coach Mike Krzyzewski. Both men mentioned how coach K emphasized body language all of the time, in games, in practice, even on the bench. This reminded me of how Chris Daily does the same. I've seen practice videos where she is calling out players, any player, even a top star, for poor body language. Just one of the many little things that define championship teams. CD is all about the details. Not surprising that both coaches have been a key part of two basketball dynasties.
