Don't think Nashville can match Manhattan shopping trips.
But to quote a certain candidate for high office, she could probably learn to say "Y'all" and to like grits.
I took a cross-country drive from CT about 10 years ago with one of my sons to get his car back to LA where he lives. We did the southern route because another of my sons then lived in Blacksburg, VA. So we decided to go through Knoxville on our way west afterward, partly because I have a friend there, and drive around the UT campus. We have a great photo of a sign that says "Swine Delivery Entrance". I thought from the outside that their football stadium was ugly.
Can't say too much about Nashville because my son's car had a problem we had to take care of so most of our Nashville plans were scrubbed. Before the car problems we played golf nearby, toured the Andrew Jackson estate (Hermitage)walked around the lobby of the new Grand Ol' Opry (didn't convert me into a country music fan) and drove what seemed like miles around the humungous Opryland Hotel and the abutting mall, which CD might like even though it sure ain't Manhattan.
