Ossining went to 3-0 with a road win at Newburgh Free Academy....102-38. No stats listed for Saniya. They play Greeley on Monday before leaving for Arizona.

St. Mary's.....this is peculiar...help! The site has St. Mary's losing to Camelback 53-11.
At another spot in the site they have them winning 53-11...leading 27-0 after the first quarter.
This is their last game before the open the Nike event on Dec. 20.

I went to Saniya’s game yesterday (Fri. 12/14) which was at Ossining, not NFA.. It was basically over after the first 3 minutes. Ossining’s defensive pressure was stifling. They continually doubled the ball as soon as it crossed half court, forcing all kinds of turnovers. Newburgh Free Academy was completely overmatched.

Here’s a very short blurb about the game……”Ossining 102, Newburgh Free Academy 38: At Ossining, Saniya Chong had 32 points, 14 assists and five steals for the Pride. Jalay Knowles had 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals. Andra Espinoza-Hunter had 17 points.”

Saniya would have had about 20 assists, but her teammates, at the start of the game, fumbled several crisp passes, or missed their layups. It looks like Saniya is trying to get all her teammates involved at the start of games this year. Once they get going, then she kicks in her offensive game.

It’s too bad Destini Walker is no longer with the team (moved to Virginia). She was a force inside and would have definitely increased Ossining’s chances of a great showing at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona (12/20 – 12/22).

Can’t wait to see Saniya slashing and dishing to Stefanie, Kiah, Breanna, and Morgan next year…….or going all the way to the basket and hanging a left handed beauty on the opposition (Saniya has a great left hand)………or her step-back, 25’ – 30’ for 3!
