Actually he can shoot until the cows come home. It’s a shoulder instability, not a rotator cuff problem. Shooting doesn’t put it at risk of dislocation.

Exactly, the shoulder instability makes it hard for Glibert’s shooting to improve via practice. To improve shooting you need to practice consistent, repetitive mechanics and the instability makes it hard to effectively accomplish at this level. It’s not recreation where the tolerance for error is greater - this is D-1 level mem’s basketball.

A small detail really, but two of his first three made shots were 3's. Something, something, casual fan, something.

I already responded on this - I was referring to the second half when he effectively took over the game.

I also thought Adams should have looked a bit more humbled but at least he wasn't moping.

There were so many moving parts to the team it was dizzying. I came away happy overall with what KO has to work with (and this was without Jalen in there) that can only assume the in-game lapses in mental acuity will improve.

Antwoine: Could fill a leadership void in areas that Jalen may can't.

Polley and Whaley: Really liked them. More!

Cobb: Offense was woeful. Boarding was sweet.

Alterique: Psyched for what's coming. Forgetting Colgate asap.

Larrier: I see wants that NBA shot now. But Cheif...two of his first three hoops were treys. He starts far, went mid-range, then went deep. I do remember he had a sweet kiss off the back board early, too. I hope he stays healthy.

Carlton: Barely remember him but there were so many parts.

Chillious: There was stretch I was watching the bench and while Ollie was up on the side lines coaching Chillz was also standing barking out orders, too. I barely remember coaches in the past being vocal like this. Maybe I just didn't notice.

This was Colgate. But the Huskies escaped being Wagnered. Barely.

Get Adams in there and lets gel. And work on contesting those treys.

As hoop said repetitive motion or mechanics does not compromise shoulder instability.

The shoulder is not unstable over the mechanics of a shot, so he can reproduce his shooting motion. It's under force, especially under leverage at biophysically disadvantaged angles, that the shoulder becomes unstable. A 90 mph baseball pitch that takes the shoulder through its full range of motion would be riskier than an 18 mph basketball shot that keeps the arm forward (its most physically natural orientation).

Except that the shoulder isn't in an instability position during the shooting motion. It's in far abduction/external rotation, or with force from direct contact, that the shoulder is unstable. And this has nothing to do with whether it's recreational hoop or D-1 basketball. It has to do with the mechanics of the shooting motion, and the position(s) of greatest risk.

That's not what he said. Certainly AG may lack confidence in his shooting, particularly shooting with a brace on. All he said was that the shoulder instability would not prevent AG from practicing his shooting. AG can take as many shots as he wants, and he can repeat the same motion. There's no guarantee that practice will make him a good shooter. But if he doesn't, it will be because he's not a gifted shooter, or because the brace hinders him, not because he can't practice shooting.

My last comment on the obvious - “or because his brace hinders him” - means the shoulder can hinder progress to improve his shooting. More importantly anyone who knows what’s gone on in individual workouts and preseason practice knows it has.
Just as Travis had his academic theories Internet Dr Hoop can have his - I go by what I and others see.

I'm not sure if you know this but Chief is actually a medical expert on concussions and shoulder injuries. The casual surgeons like you and Doctor Hoop never understand the true impact of these injuries on players

Chief, you claim to be an insider with UConn athletics and want all of us to believe you yet you doubt two guys who claim they are Drs. and they specialize in shoulders. You should give them the benefit of the doubt as we give you the benefit of the doubt. Their point is that the separation won't restrict AG from taking as many jump shots as he wants in practice. Your point is that it will restrict him. I'm going with the Docs on this one. I agree with you that his outside shooting looks to be a problem for the team right now. And his passing up wide open threes has to stop. That will be his challenge going forward. Every player going to the next level soon realizes they have holes in their games. The good ones work to fill up the holes.

You can believe whatever you want - I don’t care but I respect your right to think as you will. I have never labeled myself an “Insider” or “Outsider”. I am not sure what these words actually mean? These are words others toss around. I know some people and talk to them and get the occasional opportunity to view practice/workouts. I love the game.
To me it’s more about information than what someone labels themself on the internet. I don’t call myself Dr Insider. I had a shadow for my handle the longest time - until one was designed for me. I don’t get my identity via the Internet.
You can make your own judgements on my predictions. Time will tell on Gilbert’s shooting - I would love to be wrong on that. If someone sees Gilbert taking 500 shots a day, please let me know since I haven’t seen it.
