Arike amassing points. Sloot amassing assists. Both had very big 3rd quarters (18 points, 8 assists).

Chicago just can't finish off games. They were up 8, quickly gave up the lead and down 3 now, late in Q4.

86-83. Dallas Arike is at her very otherworldly best. 38 pts

Edit But then, They start losing any discipline and clamp down on Arike. Gabby had multiple great defensive stops on Arike. Chi wins 95-88

Well, never mind. Chicago goes on a 9-0 run to finish the game I think and get the W.

23 for Parker, 22 for Hebard, 15 and 12 assists for Sloot. I believe that will be enough to get her average up to 10 apg for the season.

38 for Arike.

Dallas breaks down at the end. Really poor decision making by Harris to run up the court and jack up a 3 with about 12 seconds left....she was 3-11 at that point, Arike 13-25. Washington/Atlanta in the driver's seat for the 8th spot. Honestly missing the playoffs and likely nabbing the #1 or #2 pick next year might be best option for the long term even with a weak 2021 draft.

Sloot had 79 assists in their last 6 games! Dang she was racking them up.

Some other player took a three point shot and missed and she was not a good three point shooter. Arike, after getting her shot blocked right at the end, did not strut or shake her head like she did earlier. Why she did not get a technical after yelling at the official after a missed shot near the end of the game makes me think she gets a little ESPN favor. She often pushes off with her left arm when driving to the basket and rarely gets called for it. Also, are there any players in the WNBA who can keep the player they are guarding in front of them? My goodness! Where is the one on one defense?

That is amazing! I wonder if Sabrina will someday break that record.

Yes, Gabby really stuck with her in those last few minutes. Arike still trying to shoot. She doesn't make anybody else better, she just shoots.

Gratified to see Hebard making big leaps as a rookie and proving the skeptics wrong. IMHO she has been pretty underrated around these parts (admittedly in part because her former teammates Ionescu and Sabally are worthy of greater attention). Her family story is also tremendous and well worth a player profile segment if they haven't already done one. Really really hard kid to root against.

As Feinberg, Rebecca, et al. have noted, the criteria for determining an assist have evolved over time, so the number is higher under today's standards than years ago. Despite that, even if you reduce Sloot's numbers by 10-20%, she still puts up a lot of assists.
