St. Mary's beat Chavez High 84-12...yikes! They won their first game 70-8.
They have 3 games in 3 days starting today in a local tournament....have no idea about the quality
of the opposition. The Nike event starting on Dec. 20 may be their first test. Couldn't find
any box score to see how Courtney Ekmark did.

So they went from giving up single digits to giving up double digits. Clearly, the sky is falling. Hope they can right the ship soon.;)

I appreciate your way of thinking, Phil.

Why don't you call these reports the "Ek Check" instead?

When she arrives at UConn she will certainly leave an Ek-mark.

Didn't someone say that St. Mary's doesn't keep individual statistics...?

You are right, OTP. Anthony Ray, a prominent writer covering the Arizona HS and JUCO scene says of Curtis Ekmark (Courtney's Dad and coach):

Ekmark, a former basketball player himself at the University of Marquette, where he played for legendary head coach Rick Majerus, has a very unconventional style of coaching. Looking for a stat sheet after his team’s play, and you won’t find one. That’s because he doesn’t keep them. Ekmark never keeps his player’s statistics. Instead, he teaches his players to play an very unselfish, selfless style of basketball that promotes ball movement in a very up-tempo, attacking brand of basketball.

Hmm...a style that is unselfish, promotes ball movement, up-tempo and attacking. That sounds vaguely familiar...
