I thought that he was still hiding under his desk at the Golden Dome. Figured that he had not recovered from the loss to us.

What a shock. Fat jokes. Stay classy guys.

Oh who am I kidding. Weis is so fat that if he gains another 5 pounds, he'll collapse into a neutron star.

Nice hire by Kansas. Have to wonder if they knew they could get Weiss before the fired Gill. Was pretty surprised they only gave Gill 2 years after he inherited a roster with very little talent returning.

It's a terrible hire. His teams at Notre Dame were terrible and he didn't exactly cloak himself in glory at Florida. He might make it 3 years.

What in God's name has this guy done to deserve another head coaching job?

This is a really bad hire. Charlie Weis couldn't win at ND where he had all the advantages and he is going to turn around Kansas? His offense this year at Florida was miserable.

Many schools make this same coaching hire mistake. Hire a big name when you should look for an energetic program builder. I give him 3 years.

Weis may be the biggest fraud in football. Good luck recruiting without ND's advantages.

It didn't seem like Florida was too happy with Charlie and they are probably happy with this news and it will probably save the job of Florida's head coach.

Can anyone say, 1-11 to 3-9 every season? I sure as heck can. I would be surprised though if I am proved wrong :D.

I would think Florida is ecstatic. He was making something like $2mm as an assistant and his first year was not good at all. They wouldn't have been able to fire him with his contract.

Bizarre. Weis has done nothing to show he is any better a HC than Turner Gill, so why not just keep Turner Gill? Weis' problem at ND was talent evaluation, which will be much harder at a school like Kansas where you are not picking from among 4 and 5 star athletes, but are instead in the fatter part (pun intended) of the talent distribution curve.

Illinois hiring the Toledo coach is kind of the same thing. He had a 3 year run at Toledo with a couple of wins over bad BCS schools during that stretch, and now he gets a Big 10 gig? Illinois realizes they are still Illinois, playing in a league with Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio State and Michigan, right? Zook had some serious gameday issues, but without his recruiting, that program is going to suck.

Weis comes to a bottom feeding Big 12 team that will be ecstatic to win more than the 2 games it did this past season. (Wasn't that Maryland's win total too?) IMO, fan expectations for the 2012 season will be high...but not that high. And Charlie does well enough, they may even name a haircut after him...The Jayhawk.

This is an odd hire. Weis barely succeeded at Notre Dame and Kansas is much tougher. I just don't think he is that great a coach. Got a lot of good publicty with the Pats but between Belichek and Brady, I'm not sure it was all that well deserved.
