Condolences to Charli and her family. That is WAY too young for her father to pass away. I know she will make her father proud. If she doesn't feel tied to Texas, she can have a very large extended family in Connecticut.

Is Charli considering Tennessee? I was discussing her recently with a Lady Vols fan and they said Warlick basically offered her a starting position if she decided to come...

I think Holly offered a starting position to Harris to commit. I think Holly at this point would offer a weed wacker a chance to start.

I don't know specifically about her Tennessee interest, but I'm sure she's heard of them :-P

She seems like a very spectacular play so I don't see a guaranteed immediate starting spot at Tennessee being a huge incentive as any post player they sign from 2017 and beyond will inevitably have plenty of opportunity for immediate action with Mercedes Russell (their only major inside presence) having had moved on by the time the 2018's arrive, if not the year before should she forgo her final year of eligibility.

Can we have a pair of Colliers- the one from Texas, and the one from O'Fallon, MO?

I believe it was cancer.

Charli had camped at Tennessee this summer. I believe she and few friends/teammates also attended camps at Kansas and maybe Louisville.

I really don't mean to sound the way I'm going to sound in this post, because I'm sure that everyone cares mightily for these kids, but should we really know this much about 17 (or even 14!) year old high school students? I've followed WCBB for at least 15 years, but have never before belonged to a blog and so haven't been exposed to this level of detail. Much of it seems absolutely wonderful, but some of it seems, well, not very healthy for the kids themselves. Do they want to be like Justin Bieber and have everything about them known? Maybe they do; maybe becoming a big-time high school player and a target of recruitment since (maybe) 5th grade means that their lives are now somewhat transparent and that they welcome that part of the process. Maybe I'm wrong here, and I'm completely sure that I'm being terribly naive in wishing that these kids might grow up a little less observed. But it just doesn't seem right, somehow....

Bags , this is the Information Age......Kids tweet information , Text , Facebook , Face Time , etc. Plus this blog does its homework on prospects. We follow all forms of media and forms of information. .....We are not trying to be nosey. Just Informed.

That is sad news about the passing of her father and I am sure that it will have an impact on her college decision. Assuming that her mother is still living, it would seem that the decision of leaving Texas or staying home would be a big part of her decision. I believe that the passing of Natalie Chou's grandmother had an impact on her decision to stay closer to her mom/home.

It is hard to say if Collier is giving the Longhorns another look after opening her recruiting back up. She will be entering her freshman year in college when Brown and Mompremier will be seniors and Cox will be a junior, so if she were interested in Baylor she would surely be sharing playing time with those three for at least one year.

I realize this is the reality of it all and that kids participate in generating this information themselves through social media. So thanks HGN for being considerate with me on this. I just rue that this is the case, I guess. A little sentimentality about an age that appeared (certainly wasn't!) more innocent.

I think most of us over 40 (or whatever age you want to assign) are a little perplexed by this incredible 'desire to share' that marks the social media generation. And I do feel 'guilty' when I have occasional visited a Facebook page of a player or recruit - just too much information that I really don't need to know. I think we do pretty well on this board recognizing limits and keeping information to basketball issues. But it is never a bad thing to raise awareness for everyone when you feel limits may be reached.

I too rue this age of over information. It just seems the more we talk at each other as a society the less literate we've become. The more we share of ourselves through media the less courteous we are. The more that demands our attention the less attention span we cultivate. Yes, a deep sigh for what seems a lost and more innocent age. Thankfully here at the BY we talk about a game which seems to change but really remains the same. I for one am grateful.

She will offered a starting position to every recruit about now. What would you do when you have zero recruits coming in this year?

Give them the kitchen sink as well. Desperate times sets in motion desperation.
