it is a full recruitment underway. If not for a last minute change, Charli would have already visited UConn earlier this winter. For those not aware, she attended their game at Houston. Marisa Mosely was recently in TX for Charli's game on the 9th

"In the past couple of days Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU and U of Houston have made visits to my school/games. I’ve been to Baylor to watch their game versus Oklahoma and Texas A&M to watch them play South Carolina , as well as Houston to watch them play UConn."

ND went to see one of her games very recently, as well. Between Collier, Williams, Vaughn, Patterson and Walker, we might as well take a time share out and save some lodging costs.

Did not realize ND had interest in Mikayla Vaughn-I assume that's who you meant. A very high quality young lady, school and family I am told. I have not seen her play but my daughter has coached against her HS team. I'll have to start paying more attention.

From what I've read on posts from our recruiting bird-dogs, she is on Niele Ivey's list (Niele heads up recruiting for Muffet and ND). I've read good things, as well, along with Danielle Patterson.

With Taya Reimer transferring (and Turner/Westbeld both being seniors in 17/18), the Irish will need bigs. Better to cast a wide net (Penn., NY, Florida, Texas) than get burned trying for one or two. (The Cox decision stung more than one school.)

With the NJ playoffs coming up, I'll start attending all the sectional tourneys and state playoffs to take a gander. I saw Michelle Sidor at an Xmas tourney and she's a colt, with a three-point shot and some good acceleration. Plus, as an ND alum/fan, I have to see the latest incarnation of a

I know that Geno and his staff have gone to see Charli several times. Do we know if Charli is interested in UConn?

Does she have a list of schools she is considering, Hoopgurlz just lists Texas.

Texas schools, Notre Dame, Duke, Ohio State,UCLA, USC, So. Carolina, Kansas Okla State all have their hats in ring
imo... Michigan could be a darkhorse

Charli Collier's season is over after Barber Hill loses a tough one 78-77 Friday.

Collier had 36 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.

She averaged 34 points and 13 rebounds in three playoff games.

Charli cannot do an "official" visit to UCONN until April 2017. Lexi is not exactly next door to Charli they live 280 miles part. The two will play on same AAU team this Spring/Fall. If Charli makes an official visit to UCONN that would be a great sign and confirmation of what CoachBill has been telling us.

I happened to have looked up Charli and was sad to learn that her father, Elliot, had passed away what seems like about a week ago. Obviously this must be very devastating for her (still just 16 years old) and her family.

It seems Charli and her father had a very special bond over basketball. I'm reading that the late Mr. Collier was a resilient gym rat. Despite getting cut from his HS team each of his four years, he still pursued his love for there sport and decided to be a walk-on at a DII school. Eventually he cracked their starting lineup and even spent some time playing professionally in Honduras. He was very formative in her basketball development from an early age.

I'm unaware of the cause of his passing, but perhaps there was an illness he had been battling at the time of the Notre Dame game at Storrs, explaining her inability to attend/visit. Understandably, this tragedy could be a reason why she might prefer to stay in Texas for college so she can remain close to the rest of her family.

She seems to be handling this with incredible strength and poise.

It's incredibly tough losing a parent at that age. May she draw strength from her loving relationship with him.
