I'm curious to see which version of NC State hits the floor against Notre Dame later today: the one that looked listless and tired in South Bend or the one that played a great first half against Syracuse and followed that up with solid performances against Wake and lowly Pitt to end the season following consecutive losses to Notre Dame and Duke.

Notes from the P4 tournaments

#5 seed 3-1, with TxT losing to #12 KSt
#6 seed 2-2, with Tenn (#11 Ala) & Md (#11 Ore) losing
#7 seed 2-2, with MichSt (#10 Ill) & IowaSt (#10 ASU) losing
#8 seed 1-3, with only Washington (USC) winning

(Only) STONE COLD LOCK: #1 UCLA over #8 Washington
UPSET ALERT: #5 ND over #4 NCSt
I'd list Illinois as a possible upset alert as well. Even if Stuelke is cleared to play, this Illinois roster is playing really well.

UCLA appears to be team dealing with jet lag, scoring 6 points in Q1 v Washington.

Perhaps game plan for the Huskies of the Northwest was to clamp down on D and hold UCLA under 25 for the game. 😁

If you thought I was gonna lose 41 straight bets, then you were sadly mistaken 😤😤😤

If the game plan had been to declare the game over after 10 minutes, they would've been golden. However they got walloped for the next 30 minutes of game clock. Oh well. Wasn't holding out the slightest hope they would win.

I think I'd trade a couple extra hours between games for getting to sleep in longer in the morning. How long before game time do you need to be at the arena? Probably 2 hours or so.

Game is at noon local time, but for West Coast teams who probably haven't adjusted to time difference yet it is 9 am. For UCLA maybe it doesn't matter as much, but Washington got stuck with early game 2 days in a row. As would USC if they had won today.

edit--this wouldn't matter if conference realignment hadn't brought us all this insanity of teams being in the same league but 3/4 of the way or entirely on opposite sides of the country from each other
reason # 1001 why conference realignment was a bad idea.

Yes it was a bad idea, but this didn't happen without the PAC 12 leadership failing to manage the business. Between their inability to capitalize on the brand they had and their failing to properly account for overpayments that added to their financial strain, it made it easier for the other conferences to poach schools.

“Poach schools” ???

You mean “provide a life raft to schools.”

Uh oh, @TheFarmFan is about to get triggered by this thread drift re: demise of the Pac 12.

Hidalgo probably won’t be a first-teamer this year but she’s very clearly one of the five best players in the country to me.

.-.
Vandy getting rocked by ole Miss. they will fall to overall 6 or 7.
LSU 5 and then probably Mich/Iowa 6

The Pac-12 was a client at the time U$C and FUcla Judas'd it, so it's professional as well as personal. And since Stanford can scarcely seem to win an away game in the Eastern Time zone, yes, I'm disinclined to let this one go (in my head). But I've tried to keep my mouth shut because there's nothing we can do about it now...

At least you're still in a Power conference

😢

That’s been my only real concern with Vanderbilt, do they have enough when Blakes has an off night?

How bad is it that the B12 can't even gets semifinals off ESPN+? Eek.

Shea Ralph got ejected, probably the first time in her career?
Surely frustrated with the game and perhaps trying to fire up her team a bit. They did get it back to 11, not bad when you were down 32 at half.

With four SEC teams in the top eight, that loss with the LSU win likely puts Vandy into UConn’s bracket.

Walking (logging) into my Draft kings Account today like .

Watching the clip that led to it, I could understand why. Blakes drawing a foul on a play like that is perplexing. I've never understood how referees could call a foul in a situation like that. The lip readers were out on social media pretty quick to translate what she said too.

The advantage of being the #1 seed cannot be overstated, especially with a team that only plays 2 guards. The extra 2 hours or so of rest and recovery will be huge for tomorrow.
