Championship Thread Ohio State vs ND

Though OSU won, I'm disappointed that the beat down against ND wasn't sustained...now ND and its fans will start thinking they truly belong in the CFP championship game.
 
Glad I refrained from betting this game. All of my thoughts would have been wrong.
 
Ryan Day is the first HC to win the CFP national championship and still have calls to be fired

Not just about money. The first round bye is a big deal. Even if they manage to add teams to the playoffs, the conferences won't let ND get a bye.

Just curious but what was the record of the 4 teams that received the bye this year?

I didn't count their unique tv contract or their ACC share. That $20 million is just for the fb playoffs. OSU has to share their $20m with the rest of the B1G.

They only receive a partial amount of the ACC revenue, not the full amount.

Their TV contract is about $20, and future values might double.

My point as a whole was conference money and playoff seeding, which will always benefit conference teams.

ND 's schedule will always be tough, compared to other big conference teams.

A lot conference teams have better path to a playoff game than ND does. That's not going to change anytime soon.

I understand the money argument isn't strong, but if the goal is to win a title, IMO, being a part of a conference, would probably make things easier
