The third qualifying round started today. This is the round where some familiar names begin play. PSV and Monaco played to a 1-1 draw in Monaco, and Belgian surprise story Union Saint-Gilloise beat Rangers 2-0 in Belgium.

Rangers and PSV played to a 2-2 draw yesterday. Return leg next Wednesday for all the marbles. Scandinavian clubs Copenhagen and Bodo/Glimt both hold one goal advantages going into next week.

Bad draw for the Italian sides bar Milan.

Three groups to me are the most interesting:
Group A with Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, and Rangers.
Would not be shocked if Liverpool went home early.

Group C with Bayern, Barca, Inter, and Plzen.
Expect Bayern to win the group but the battle for 2nd between Barca and Inter will be intense.

Group H with PSG, Juve, Benfica, and Maccabi Haifa.
Expect PSG to go through but would not be surprised if Juve gets bounced.

A: Ajax, Liverpool, Napoli, Rangers
B: Atletico, Porto, Brugge, Leverkusen
C: Bayern, Inter, Barca, Plzen
D: Spurs, Sporting, Frankfurt, Marseille
E: Milan, Salzburg, Chelsea, Zagreb
F: Real, Shakhtar, Leipzig, Celtic
G: Man City, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Sevilla
H: PSG, Benfica, Juve, Haifa
