I Was on campus today. Looks like the new practice facility is complete. I did not get to go inside, but I did take a quick cellphone pic.

Not sure how I feel about the mural out front. Would have preferred to see Ray or Okafor...I guess they are trying to appeal to the average student since the building cost so damn much
Realize this is a joke but fwiw there are two huge murals inside that are visible from the outside. On the men's side it's Ray, on the women's side, Maya

Does anyone know what they are going to be doing in front of the left side of the building? I assume landscaping, although I prefer concrete, keeping symetry with the other side.

Just watched at the above LINKY about 30 people with what appeared to be a guide enter the building, so I would think it is finished

I think the furniture isn't in yet but I may be wrong.

Interesting choice to go with Ray. To piggyback on a previous thread about the 5 guys on the poster, Ray never won a ring here but from a recognition standpoint for future recruits, he's probably the guy to hold the torch. It reminds me of post game interviews, when a lesser known player is clearly the MVP of the game game yet the superstar always gets the interview.

Ray is a no brainer, if Kemba retires 10+ years from now and is a HOFer like Ray then you would have some debate but Ray is the most recognizable Husky of all time and its not even close. Besides just the playing career He Got Game is still popular today, just look at all the teenage hoopers using Jesus Shuttlesworth as their twitter handles.

As aceboon said Ray is a no brainer. He's still a huge name in the NBA at almost 40 years old, he's the best shooter ever, the Jesus Shuttlesworth nickname, everyone likes him. He didn't win it all at UConn but he's a legend and by far our most recognizable player. Selvie was the only other realistic choice.
