Tell your friend that nothing good ever happens after 1:00 am.... If a basketball player hits someone, most likely they don't get kicked off the team. Football players are considered more expendable due to the sheer number of rostered players. If a football player gets kicked off, it's next man up. That's a lot tougher in basketball.

Unfortunately it's a political decision not a just one. Hitting someone is a mistake but back in the day if you applied that standard most players and coaches are off the team. Seems like an overreaction.

You sound like a victim blaming piece of trash. There's a difference between mutual combat and getting jumped and sucker punched.
