This is the first of back to back games against each and something tells me that when the AAC Tourney starts they will really dislike each other....

Definitely don't like each other. UCF needs at least a split to increase their tourney odds. Due to a weird forfeit 'win' for USF against Memphis they are half a game up on UCF in the standings. If UCF sweeps they win the AAC regular season title. If the records were the same UCF would win with a split due to the teams records against Houston but that won't come into play.

Best types of games... I miss the good ol days when sports teams/college teams hated each other. :(
Ha you sound like Geno. "What happened to the hate? It's no fun anymore," spoken with a wry smile.

These will be two slugfests. Natural rivalry born of geographic proximity, combined with UCF's endearing "get under your skin" style of play, combined with UCF's desperate need to shore up its resume, combined with USF wanting to rebound from their loss at Houston ...

UCF getting slaughtered 27-9 midway through 2nd Q

Wow, Jose righted the ship! Good for him as I to see this continue!

Ugly first half for the Knights and the Bulls are playing well. UCFs bigs have gotten outplayed badly by USFs at this point. We'll see if this tightens up or the Bulls run away with it in the 2nd half.

44-33 after 3. Still a lot of work for UCF in the final quarter if they want to get the W. Both teams struggling with fouls but only USF is getting to the line. Alisha Lewis for UCF is 5-6 from 3 at this point.

I just realized that this would be USF's 1st conference title. Party tonight! Good for them. I hope they can get a 5 or 6 seed and have a shot to get to the S16.

UCF closed to within 1 but the first half hole was too big to overcome. They ended up losing by 3 with a missed 3 at the buzzer. Alisha Lewis ended up with 27 points and has come on strong lately for UCF.

Lewis has been a great get for UCF.

Didn't catch this game but it sounds like quite the comeback effort that just came up a hair short. The rematch later this week — back in Orlando, on a court where UCF rarely loses — should be intense.

This may be their best shot yet at a S16, as they'd get a shot at 3 or 4 seed on a neutral court in the 2nd round.

IIRC the closest they came was a one-possession loss at UCLA back in the Courtney Williams era.
