Really solid performance. I agree with what everyone said but I was really impressed with Murphy. That kid looks like he can be a beast. He looks really strong and big for WR. I like it! I think he’s gonna be big for us this year.

This will be the only game at the Rent that I’ll be able to go to in person this year. Great weather, great atmosphere, great win.
Maple, if it's a ticket issue DM me when you want to go to a game. I normally have extra tickets and often have a spare parking pass.

Two things surprised me. How good Nick Evers was and how poor the defense was. If they play three down linemen against the P4's it will get ugly. Evers, on the other hand, when he is fully healed as he presumably was today, has that ultra quick first step and exceptional wheels after that. I haven't seen him cut or spin like a running back, (and why would a coach ever allow a QB to do those kinds of things), but he is a weapon.

Oh, one other thing. UConn is not gonna run to the right this year? Or is that just a ruse?

Couple observations from up in Section 209:

1. If anyone doubted that Fagnano to Bell is real -- Fagnano to Bell is real.
2. Was really happy to see Rosa get in the end zone today.
3. Agreed that the DL is a work in progress, but the team did tackle well in space.
4. Would it kill the Rent to have video monitors at the concession stands? Lines are long, pulls you away from the game forever. Such a cheap investment that would be a meaningful improvement.

Nice win fellas. Way to dominate a team you’re supposed to dominate. D line needs some work. And clean up penalties.

Positives:

Stomped a team that UConn was supposed to stomp.

Negatives, and these are BIG NEGATIVES:

1) Parking was a mess. I was stuck in traffic for almost 15 minutes coming in at noon despite only 15-20 thousand people in the stadium. This was bush league.

2) They didn't fully stock the concessions. There were items on the menu that were not actually available. This is bush league stuff that makes it look like the program is not even trying.

Seemed everyone played a solid game outside of perhaps Porter, but as far as the BY goes, the best moment was having WFSB's on field crew acknowledge the Polish feast at @coachcap 's tailgate.

Harper is exciting. Slippery, quick feet, fights for yards, not easy to take down. Hope to see more of him.

Chat worked fine on my MotoG phone which I had to use because had to cast laptop to TV. I found it hard to believe the production crew actually gets paid to air what they did. They were the worst part of the game.

Did the sound system improve? UConn needs to improve fan experience.

Not even close. That HC went 10-2 and made the FCS playoffs.

CCSU stinks.
But in previous years this would've been a 13-10 win.
I actually didn’t think they “stunk” maybe on D but certainly the QB looked capable and they moved the ball on us.

CCSU can forget about this game and go on to have a good season. They’ve got some pieces, they just need to figure out how they all go together.

Parking at the Rent sucks. It's a victim of the lack of mass transit in greater Hartford. And one of the reasons people leave early is because they want to beat the traffic.

If UConn wants butts in seats for four quarters it needs to find a way to get people to the stadium so that they worry less about how they're going to get back out.

Compared to virtually every other large event facility in the Northeast, the Rent is an easy out. Way better than Foxboro, Met Life, BC,. Fenway,…

Appreciate the offer! It’s more of work/travel conflicts; fall is especially busy time for me. I always set aside time to make one game a year.

From my perspective at the game today our defense seem to play very vanilla. I didn't see the blitzes from linebackers or any of our 5 secondary players that we saw a lot of last year. Maybe they didn't want to show Syracuse too much or maybe too many new players to work the complicated blitzes in yet.

Honestly it’s probably a mixture of both

This ^^^

We answered some questions today mostly on offense. Defense is still a work in progress and it's really hard to judge certain position groups against a team like CCSU. We don't reeeally know how good the OL is but it's pretty obvious there's some talent on that side of the ball. I think our d-backs will be fine but the weakness at d-line filters back to other positions and responsibilities.

Nothing unexpected. Knowing the D is a work in progress my main concern was some aspect of the offense getting shut down by a lower tier group. The coaches don't have to question their preparation or playbook based on today's production.

The only real negative that bugged me during the game was staring across the field at half or three quarter empty chairback sections. Your support of UConn Football is greatly appreciated of course. But if you can't show up is there some way to get live people into those seats? Can those tickets not be sold, transferred or donated? I don't know what the answer is but it's a bad look when every other section is 80-90 % full.

Feeling good about the O-line after losing both tackles. They dominated like they should against an FCS opponent.

We have probably a dozen good skill players….crazy how far it’s come.
Getting cast offs from power programs helps a lot. Bell (Michigan), Murphy (Arizona), Juice (NCST), and even Porter (Kentucky). These guys would never have ended up here in the past, we're benefiting a lot from this era.

I won't be surprised if the offense is better than last year but the defense is worse. Bell is gonna be a problem for everyone on our schedule. And I love that he's our best outside blocker too. Guy is a complete football player.

Maybe (hopefully) it's just a repeat of bad first game D like last year, but the DL and LB look like they regressed. DBs looked pretty good though.

My biggest surprise of the night was Evers. Looks like a totally different player. Decisive and whipping it around.

Oh, we will be there for all four quarters plus OT if that happens. Just not when it is 52-13 and there is a couple hours of gorgeous daylight left to do something.
