Having Winchester on UConn's roster this year might have gotten an extra win or two

CCSU dominated the 1st qtr, up 7-0. Should have had more but missed a chip shot FG.

7-7 at the break... CCSU started out hot but failed to convert a few chances in the first three drives. Albany coming back now.

.-.
and Albany with all the momentum. CCSU's kicking game really hurting them

CCSU unraveling now down 21-7. Blocked FG and another quick TD for UA. That's 3 TDs in about the last 5 minutes of game time for UA.

28-7 and getting ugly.. CCSU with the UConn 2018 defensive impression on that series

.-.
Complete meltdown in the 3rd qtr.

That commentator has a point - ever since that CCSU RB got that penalty for throwing the football at UA's D in the 1st half it's been a completely different game.

CCSU had plenty of opportunities to be up BIG in the 1st half, but they let it get away from them.

.-.
Gattuso - UALBANY HC - was Edsalls Assoc HC at Maryland. OLine coach at Pitt under Wannstedt. HC at HSs in Pittsburgh & at Saint Francis College (I think)

What a joke the FCS bidding system is. CCSU earned a home game and drew 3-5k all season. They would have had 5k In New Britain today.

His tenure at Albany hasn’t been well received by fans. This will help of course.

UAlbany has evolved from the Bob Ford tenure of “nice little side sport at a Major State Campus” ... to the modern CFB world. New stadium. Wider recruiting harvest. Before Gattuso ... it was really decades behind the rest of the CAA. Ford has mentored a great amount of the northeast coaching community ... but the Program was unknown even on campus.

They don’t have a Fanbase in Albany. Really. It’s just started. It has not gone very far in concentric circles beyond friends & family. No. The Community has not embraced UALBANY football. And Gattuso. However ... that’s lack of effort & pure sheep inertia. There’s little else taking that space in the region. (Note. I am an adjunct Professor at UALBANY)

Curious, what do you teach?

Low turnout for UAlbany football playoff victory

>>When the University at Albany bid successfully for a home game in the NCAA football playoffs, athletic director Mark Benson said, "Our hope is we're going to get a really strong turnout from the community."

That didn't happen on Saturday.

A crowd of 1,660, by far the smallest in Casey Stadium history, turned out to watch the Great Danes drub Central Connecticut 42-14 in the first round of the Football Championship Subdivision Tournament. It was significantly fewer than the previous low of 2,483 for the regular-season finale against Stony Brook last season.<<

>>Despite the disappointing attendance, UAlbany will still owe the NCAA a minimum of $30,000 in net revenue in exchange for hosting Saturday's game. That's the guarantee required for getting a first-round game.

The Great Danes head on the road for the second round next Saturday. They'll face fifth-seeded Montana State, which averages 18,547 fans per home game.<<
