I don't have a problem w/ the hype Smart is getting because he deserves it, but, it's interesting to compare his numbers to Napier's from a year ago. Smart: 15 PPG, 6 RPG, 4 APG, 3.4 TOV/g, 40/29/78 shooting splits, 3 spg, 24 PER Napier: 17 PPG, 4 RPG, 5 APG, 2.4 TOV/g, 44/40/82 shooting splits, 2 spg, 23.8 PER You could argue Napier was the better player last season, yet Smart was a 2nd team all-american while Napier wasn't even nominated for the Wooden award. Hopefully Bazz uses this as fuel b/c I still am not sure people realize how good he was lats year.

There's no question he was overlooked last year because UConn was ineligble for the postseason. If you ask coaches from the Big East (of last year) who their pre-season all american picks would be for this year? I guarentee many of them would have Shabazz first or second team. Not even being a homer. He's a game changer.
