Obviously, 65% of his shot attempts coming from 3 is way too high, but he hasn't shown the confidence to regularly beat his guy off the dribble, and he hasn't finished well near the rim either. At any given time, he is likely the 3rd or 4th best ballhandler and 3rd or 4th best shooter on the floor for us. That guy generally doesn't get a lot of plays called for him.
I think it's just a symptom of playing on a defending national champion. There's teams all over the country where he would get 20+ minutes to continue to work out the kinks, but we've only been able to give him 11 during BE play. We have 4 starters who are averaging 30+ minutes (okay, Castle only at 28.3 in BE play), and he's the 3rd guy off the bench. Hawkins went from having a very similar freshman year to a lottery pick in one year, so all we can do is have faith and patience.
