Caroline In Charge - Video

Poised, confident, sophisticated
and we all remember what an outstanding competitor she was.
I so enjoyed this video.

But one moment gave me pause....
At the link up with Paige...
Paige immediately asked her..."how's your head"
And she replied..."better."

Which means to the rest of us, that she's not all the way back
Perhaps, never will.
Too bad.
Better could mean "getting better" or it could mean "all the way better." She WAS getting better when Paige was still at UConn, so I think in this case it certainly means better than 3 months ago, which was presumably most of the way back.

What she actually said in answer to Paige's question was, "Oh, it's better now".

Thank you for the correction...I was too hasty to write something on the subject...
I'm not sure that it materially changes what I wrote...but my quote was not correct.

I can't wait to see her play. If I'm not mistaken they have a preseason game that's public rather early. I'll probably try to go just to see how she's moving. It's against bc I believe, so even if they aren't the best team, it's d1 athleticism. That's what I'm concerned about with Caroline, just the overall speed of the game and physicality. I have no doubt she'll knock down open shots. It really does feel like yesterday (not to sound old) that the coaches were happy with how much she improved in the weight room and conditioning after her first summer session at UConn. I just wonder where she's at now. I remember hudy had Paige packing on 15 pds of muscle. I can't really think of players with Carol's build. Ann Strother? Anyways I know in the grand scheme of things it's great that she is back on the court at all.

Actually, there is very little about what you wrote that is correct! It's also hard to understand why you felt compelled to post something so negative about such a wonderful young woman, who is doing her best to make a comeback. Can she be a contributing factor on the floor for this team next season, only time will tell. Based on her actual reply to Paige, in essence one could say that she was indicating that everything was on course! No one has claimed Caroline is back to 100%. It's July, roughly 4 months before the beginning of next season.

There is no bigger fan of Caroline than me.
In essence: she said no such thing (about being on course).
Only she and her team can tell us that if they so choose.

When I watched the vid...which is wonderful...her reply to Paige
jumped out...in the question...in the answer...
Remember, this goes back to November 23! (at a least)
When it was announced that she was through for the 23/4 season

It's not like your ordinary 3-week, minor concussion (if there is such a thing).
That the question was asked and the answer indicated that there is yet on-going concern
---------
You ask: "why you felt compelled to post something so negative about such a wonderful young woman"

I don't see it as negative at all...I have always been a truth teller on this board...sure... made mistakes, some of my
predictions were off...and my views are not always popular with the board

But in a wonderful, heartfelt video of this splendid young woman ...that one small moment (the alarm bells went off) ...they let us all know...that there are yet more hurdles to overcome
I would have wished that we had passed that stage.

I'm happy that Caroline is healthy and helping everyone especially the Freshman get ready for official practice in October. But let's keep it on Caroline and not on what people conceive what was said, or the mods might just close this down.

The video shows that at the very least Carol is and will be a role model both on & off the court this season. The video showed her happy, engaged & mobile, & unless the video is total propaganda her outlook is bright.
So many people wanted to see her quit the game that I'm not sure thatt they're prepared to see her succeed.
All she needs to do is to make her shots and make less mistakes then her teammates which neither is out of the question and she can become a major contributor.
Like most sports, the game is played with brains and not just brawn.
I love to root for the underdog so I'll let her be the one.
