Caroline D, Happy for her

I found it really interesting that, in that recent Q&A with some of the team at that Geno charity event, Carol stated definitively that she planned to go into coaching. Those of you who doubt she can be a team leader unless she gets lots of floor time should realize that there are many kinds of leadership. Teams can and should have multiple leaders. I have no doubt Carol wil help lead this team regardless of her playing time or on-court role.

Might Dr. Elamir consider a NIL contract for Aviv by the end of the year as CD shows the basketball world what family love, close friends on and off the court, amazing medical science and her perseverance can accomplish.

On another post I mentioned that if Caroline's journey does not continue into the W, the basketball knowledge she has learned from some pretty good teachers at UConn and her team-first, nurturing leadership would serve her very well as a college coach. Best of luck, Caroline.

Many outstanding coaches who saw very limited floor time in their playing days: Erik Spoelstra, for one......and several more. Did Red Auerbach even play professionally? Yes, ABL....scored only 1 point in his whole pro career. There was also Mike Brown, who played only his junior and senior years in College at U of San Diego. Nurse didn't get to play in the NBA and D-League.

Some of the best coaches - men and women - were middle-to-end-of-the-bench-players: Popovich, Brad Stevens, Thibodeau, Van Gundys.....

Admittedly, John Wooden had a better playing career than Coach Geno, who had little....both turned out to be masterful coaches.

Caroline is fully aware of all these, I'm sure.....also, I am sure there were women who also made the leap like these guys did.

But unlike some who think otherwise, Caroline believes she can still play as she once did, healed through this innovative approach. Shouldn't we give her a wide berth....and pray, even just a little, for her?
Go Caroline!
