Excellent article. It shows that Caroline is a fighter and true blue HUSKY.I love how she stated her love for BB and wanting to come back if she could contribute to the game.IMHO she's back and will contribute to UCONN''s games. I also believe she will contribute a wealth of help to the newer members of the team as she will be at UCONN for 5 years and knows the drill. Best of luck to Caroline and a happy life in the future. I believe she will perform up to her abilities and show what we missed over the last 3 years. GO HUSKIES!!!!!

I love that she doesn't need the headband, but feels better with it, and ROFL that Geno called it her binky.

But unlike earlier points in her career, Ducharme isn’t just one bump to the head away from going back on the shelf. She passed that test with flying colors in practice recently. ​

“I was telling one of our coaches the other day, Tonya (Cardoza), I got an elbow to the head,” Ducharme said. “Nothing crazy but two years ago I would have been out for a couple weeks — at least. She was like, ‘I didn't even notice.’ So that was a big sigh relief for me that I was fine and I could continue.” ​

Ducharme currently dons a padded headband when she takes the court but admitted it isn’t so much for protection as it is just to make her feel better. Auriemma gave her a hard time by calling it her “binky.”​

Not sure I would go too hard on making fun of how she copes with her "PTSD" from those incidents. It is one thing for her to do it and another for her coach.

This is such great news about her recovery. We have several mountain bike racing women friends out in Colo. who have had career ending injuries like this. That she's back is sensational, not an easy road for sure, and one that has no guarantees.

It is likely that she will get some minutes in today's game and maybe the first game of the tournament which could give more insight into the likelihood that she will even play next year. Not to wish tough love here, but if she can survive some rough play or a fall to the floor it would be a great tell about her future.

I loved Caroline's game from the very first when I stumbled into her team in the New England Prep Finals. So much ability and so much competitive fire. Very happy that she has made it through. I give her huge credit for the toughnesss to actually see it through. I suspect many would have hung it up long ago. See you on the court Caroline.

IMO, she's still thinking/processing things after not being in real game action for almost 1.5 yrs, so the more she gets into offensive sets, the more fluid she'll become.

Carol is a great story of perseverance and resilience. The fact that she's playing at all is nothing short of miraculous. Having said that...

IMHO there's zero chance Carol starts next season. IF Azzi comes back, my early pick for starters are KK, Azzi, Blanca, Sarah, and Jana. It would not surprise me to see Geno go to the portal for a solid center and a solid PG.

I was somehow who was skeptical if Caroline would ever be able to return to basketball. I’m so happy she was able to overcome all the setbacks and get back to playing the sport she loves. Even if she is not a starter, her story is a brilliant example of what hard work and incredible spirit of will can get you. I’m so happy seeing her back out there on the court again playing, scoring, and — most importantly — smiling.
