Defend better & Score more. The last two games, Hall & Rutgers shots dropped and all I heard was our prayers bouncing off the rims, like the sound I hear, trying to win a Stuffed Frog at the Big E. Start stringing together stops, including extending the Defense. Somehow with proper hedges, fighting over screens, we need to get out on the shooters better. Lastly, hard to believe with speedy guards like Bazz and Boat we can't get 3 or 4, Fast breaks a game. Did we get one yesterday? Avoid a 3 game skid. All you hear is, it's Tough to win on the road. Well, MAKE IT THAT WAY MONDAY!

Bingo.

We go up 45-42 and that's where the boot has to land on the throat. Rutgers had had their run and it has been weathered and then countered.

Just get one stop there, get another bucket and Rutgers starts to think about which bar they'll head to after the loss. But no. Rutgers scores pretty easily, makes it 45-44 and they are still engaged. I thought the game slipped away right there.

The one constant when UConn loses is that they simply cannot get stops when they need to. They can score in spurts, but they never stop the other team from doing the same.

The "going under screens" by our guards has become the norm and I still wonder if Bazz is banged up or playing too many minutes. On offense, all 3 are having trouble handling tight pressure and more physical defense. It seems that we should be able to make other teams pay who overplay our guards, but we don't.
