Nothing anyone can do about 2 freak losses that honestly we had both.

But what we can look forward to is a roster that is full.

Once we have Rodney Purvis and Omar Calhoun going at full strength and Ryan is ok--this is a different team--that should be 5-1 anyway.

We have the talent to not only play with anyone but beat anyone and I'm looking forward to playing Duke healthy to prove that.

With Purvis and Calhoun HEALTHY this is a team with MUCH more fire power that plays excellent defense. With an offensive punch--were a top team that can beat anyone.

fg #'s from 3 after six tilts:

boat five out of 25
sam jr seven of 28
purv four of 14
tsam nil of 4
omar last yr 40 out of 131

in toto: 146 bricks

that good for nice lit wall around flower bed but would not get invite to Yankee Conference with Bobby Boyd & Bob Staak in the house as in Hugh S. Greer Fieldhouse

Tolk had better overall form, better rotation and better arc with much better touch than all 5 aforementioned dudes rolled up into 1 superdude

Tolk just always played scared because he only got scrub run

Tolk the "set shot shooter" would have been important change of pace to offer opponents during current campaign

Tolk did not have much elevation on j the brief moments I saw him in game action, but he was tall enough to be able to just stand and launch from trois

oh well, too bad

Is this happening Sunday? Someone may want to throw an article out there in one of their papers about our health?

Speaking of health. What's the latest on Purvis, Boat and the elusive Omar.

I agree, backcourt will be much improved with healthy Purvis, Boat and Omar and we can sit T Sam and Cassell more

Front court is the real disappointment. Brimah looks awful and Facey can't play the 4, or 3 for that matter and we are getting nothing from Lubin or Nolan

Healthy or not this team can't shoot. It'll be a long season we'll be scrappy and I believe we'll be in most games ( read: not Duke) but overall Sweet Sixteen.

Calhoun, Purvis, Sam and DHam can shoot and Boat can penetrate

We can get into a better flow as the season progresses. Sweet 16 would be great, I'd take that

Tolk could have been an all everything DecoY too

if ollie didnt want to play him, just give Tolk prominent spot on floor in warm-ups & Tolkski could drill one after another for viewing pleasure of opponent tune-up at other end/guaranteed, bad guys would take quick notice and make notes/pure shooter is most feared dude because in a few possessions opponent is losing double digit style/heck, ollie could have ordered a labronze type headband for Tolker with font "i can hurt you only if i is allowed to"

Yes but could he put the ball on the floor and make a play if the close out came in time? Or would he pass the ball around the perimeter and let the defense reset?

Who is he going to guard?

Speaking of Tolk, why don't we have a specialist who can come in for a brief stint and hit one or two a game. Lots of those 3 misses are fairly wide open.

I think if we get a really good matchup in our bracket we can make the Sweet 16, but I'm not super optimistic this team is good enough to do that. Still plenty of time for me to be proven wrong, though.

Where did we get the idea that Leon Tolksdorf was some Tim Legler clone? I was at that Villanova game two years ago when he came in off the bench and hit two threes and the crowd went nuts. He missed a third one and that was all for him. Is that where all this comes from?

I thought he was billed as a shooter coming in? Granted, we all know high school scouting reports are to be taken with a grain of salt, but if there was ever a year that Tolk was going to play a role here, this was it. I guess we'll never know what, if anything, he would have contributed.

Tolk could have been a very dangerous designated Set Shot Shooter if coach had any vision to hide him in a zone for short segments. His mere presence would open lanes for rosturd overflowing wit dribble drive dribble my fibble she dizzle dudes. Choke, i mean coach could have used Tolk has Designated Decoy in Coffin Corner if he didnt approve of Tolk firing in anger. Opponents would have noted in pregame warmups not to leave Tolk alone for fear of flamethrower. The fear factor is huge. Opponent does not want to see avalanche of daggers. That bury bad guy pronto. This simple concept would keep defenses alot more honest than what you are currently witnessing. Now defenses just smile, smirk and sit in various zones as shot attempts fly toward crowd vs hoop. Heck, that Nolan missed left handed stuff attempt vs Yale U epitomizes the comic joke in progress. Keep in mind, newrip percentages will continue to regress toward the mean from distance. Cheque the archives. Somebody worried if defense closes too fast on Tolk. Could Tolk at least hand the mohinder off to weaving teammate if staff didnt trust him to pass because any Category Kat V Bell Curve dude could see Tolk wasnt taking a chair off the dribble. Tolk wasnt boarding, assisting, dwibbling, jumping, hustling, banging, cheerleading, moaning, making funny faces ad infinitum. Tolk could have been a very quiet assassin.

Chap, I think you could interrogate prisoners at Guantanamo now that waterboarding is banned.
