I'll be in Providence for the game, as I am every other year. Why do we need to knock the city? It's better than Hartford (not saying much). Now Springfield, MA, that's a pit. If the Huskies play the way they did against Syracuse they win. But we've gone to PC with a much better team than the Friars and lost in the recent past. I expect a tough game. Huskies should win, but they need to make some free throws to do it.
Now I just need a pre-game beer and food location. Anyone have a suggestion among Trinity, Union Brewhouse and RiRa? Last time Union had a good contingent of Husky fans.

Anyone who thinks that there is some magical disparity in attractiveness between the states or the schools, is beer goggling pretty hard. We're not talking about Clemson or Arizona State here.

beautiful NE small town is spin for hicktown. Richest state in the Union? Then kudos to being 32 in unemployment rate. Way to spent all your dough. Compare Providence and Hartford, skippy. Get back to me on that one.
When Dickie V shows up he brings out the best/worst in the fans. BTW, when was the last time his royal baldness covered a PC game??? I doubt DukieV has a Cox cable contract......
Well, even a PC/Orioles fan would realize the last state you'll find hicks is CT. Let's face it, yeah, Storrs is small, but the kids who attend are from Fairfield, Westport, Greenwich, Ridgefield, Orange, Madison, West Hartford etc. We are not WV. And, do you wanna' compare campuses? UConn is spending billions on campus improvements. And PC? You guys need an on campus arena.
Regarding comparisons of Htfd. & Prov, yeah, Htfd isn't Vegas or New Orleans (pre Katrina) or Manhattan. But, neither is Providence. Matter of fact, combine West Hartford & Hartford with Prov. and any of it's adjoining towns and Hartford wins hands down.
BTW, how are the Orioles going to do? Can they lose as many games as the Mets will?
You, my friend, have not traveled enough across this country if you think "beautiful NE small town is spin for hicktown". Trust me it's not close to some of the hicktowns I've seen. Small CT towns are metropolitan compared to many.

Stay on point, boys. Storrs is a cowtown. FACT. HARTFORD is dump. FACT. West Hartford is beautiful. But that ain't Hartford. That's like saying East Greenwich or Barrington is Providence. All the beers at Trinity have Mojo...for the Friars! Have fun tonight!
You sound like Providence's old mayor, Buddy Cianci. When it appeared Hartford might grab the Pats, 10-12 years ago, he called Hartford ugly. The mayor of Hartford's reply was "I won't stoop so low as to knock Providence, but, Buddy's definately ugly."
