When Geno recalled losing EDD, he remarked that it wasn't really bad for UConn, who won a couple of NC's without her, but did affect WCBB generally--meaning, I believe, that it prevented this type of wildly greater kind of record. Yes, depending on whether the streak is in tact for this year and whether Z stays 2 years, something close to or greater than 200 wins is not unimaginable. I think Geno's uncomfortable with that idea. Not that it matters to a single person on this planet, but certainly I'm uncomfortable with that idea. But I bet Geno could grow to accept it; and ditto me. :)

Adding Stevens, Camara, and Walker.... Next season is going to be Awesome! No other word to use.... Sorry...

We have perhaps 3 tough games remaining this season
The one Geno fears the most, the elite -8 game and then the final-4

The team is a little beat up and not playing with the precision of say the South Florida game
We could still lose one.

But the heart shown yesterday in the face of really tough obstacles...not necessarily of South Carolina's making...Kia. Lou, fouls

Describes a team that has a willpower beyond skill.

How do we know how many games are in a season??? Some seasons are 39... we had one at 40.. and one at 38... What determines how many games?
As I recall there's a limit on games in the season. Sometimes in early season tournaments the NCAA allows 3 or maybe even 4 games can count as 2 towards the cap and thus there can be more games. The maximum # of games I recall seeing is 40.

The NCAA Tournament from the Elite Eight onwards is going to be Total War! There will be a conflagration between Connecticut, Florida State, Texas, Baylor, Maryland, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and perhaps Mississippi State. Those teams are big, tough, and determined. Coach Geno continues to tell anyone who will listen that he's just one injury and a couple of fouls from being ordinary. He's not kidding. This team is so finely tuned, so dependent on precision teamwork, that Connecticut could lose to any of those teams. We're playing great, but those other teams are supremely talented, and could win.

It's going to be exciting! The NC is not a given.

if the NY Knicks can beat the San Antonio Spurs as they did the other night then anything is possible in basketball

150 wins ... 200 in a row ... Tomorrow is not guaranteed just enjoy the moment. If you must look ahead then hope for a healthy Kia ankle come tournament time!

That's the American way----you just win 100 in a row--are undefeated--so what shall you do for me now?? And how can you top what has been done?? SOOOOO What have YOU done for this team TODAY??? Me--I only cheer--and appreciate. But wait until tomorrow I write about all the faults of Gabby, Naphessa, Butler, Danger, Lou---I am after all an American!!

200 .... nah.... When asked in the post game, Stewie said "How high can you count ?" :)

We're not done yet. We are still chasing the Flying Queens of Wayland Baptist...131 straight wins from 1954-58. We still have a lot of work left to do!

:p

Now that's funny!

Please. Kara Lawson is seriously pushing the number 200. :D:cool:
I liked Geno's response to that prediction which was something like "I love Kara, but I think that she is trying to put the 'maloik' on me."

:p
Now that's funny!

The Flying Queens are no joke. If any of their team members are still alive, they're all laughing today and saying let us know when you hit 132! And their nickname is one of the greatest in college sports history.

They'll be drinking champagne toasts, like the 1972 Miami Dolphins do every time an NFL team seriously challenges their perfect NFL season record and then loses a game, if we lose before Win No. 132. Then again, maybe not, if they're all good Southern Baptists. ;)
