and ask them to fill up the arena and root for a big east team, especially if we make it to the second round against uk... our team needs the support bc uks fans will fill that place up

Kentucky fans are promising Iowa State fans a 10,000 Kentucky fans supporting them against UCONN. This is much more likely than getting Louisville fans to support us.

I've been to tourney games in the past, once in Springfield when we lost to NC State and another in Philadelphia when we beat Texas A&M. I expected a huge pro-UCONN crowd in Springfield but it was only 25% UCONN and the rest split between Vermont, Michigan State, and Texas A&M.

Given how corporate these events have become and the split in ticket sales, crowd advantage in the tourney is somewhat overrated. However, I do think that if there is a home court advantage, Kentucky will have it.

Because those Louisville fans would much rather root against UK than watch their own team play....?

isn't it a rivalry? wouldn't it be great for a big east team to beat the overall number 1 team in the second round? I'm saying since louisville isn't playing in louisville and maybe they play on different days i was just saying it be nice for them to do that

Isn't it a 22k seat arena? I'd be willing to wager 16,000 UK fans supporting ISU.

Okay, so would you go to wherever the second-round East games are being played (somewhere in Ohio, right?), buy a ticket, sit and watch 4 or so meaningless games just to root for K State to beat Cuse?

And that's just you; what about getting enough fans to actually make some kind of difference?

those 16k fans will either show up late or leave early......either way, if uconn starts off well, its doubtful any uk fan will do much of anything.

According to Curt Schilling, the only thing better than making 20,000 fans go crazy is making 20,000 shut up. I think Jim Calhoun would agree with him.

Don't be dumb, the game is IN LOUISVILLE. It's more like, going to Gampel to root against Cuse, and yes, I would do that.

I personally wouldn't pay for a ticket just to root against a team. Seems pretty lame, but now that I think about it, it's something that is perfectly logical to the average fan from Kentucky.

If tix are available, lots of local fans go to the games, but since Kentucky is local, you're going to see great demand for tix, and practically no Lousiville fans other than the ones who already purchased tix.

Yea but the tickets probably work just like the BET. So one ticket will be good for the night session and both games

The fact is, like Curt Shilling said, you don't need us. :) You match up spectacularly against those guys. A silent UK crowd is like the greatest music in the Galaxy - they have been taking a victory lap all season, lol, so assured of what they consider their inbuilt Dominance. They actually and really believe their bluster. Them 19 years olds are just all so cute and entitled.

The corporate seating - the boxes in Yum - will be full of Louisville fans, for the record - who fully expect a Big East team to accept the duty of exposing UK once again, in a routine and predictable finish to every season.

Being tapped to do God's work again.....and we may have to do it TWICE! :-)
