Can Louisville pull off a UConn double?

Their men are ranked number 1 and their women are ranked number 2. What are the odds that they both finish the season with nattys? Any thoughts?

Exactly. we have to wait until 2024 before it get done again.
I actually like Maryland's chances better than Louisville chances (j/k)
 
We are all excited about the current situation. 2013 the NC games were in Atlanta and Nola, we beat the #1 team in the country ( I think for the first time). Our men ended up winning it ( now vacated) and we were in the finals, but you all beat it. I’m not really superstitious, but I wouldn’t mind some semblance of a repeat of that year.

Also, no way we are both #1 by the end of the season. Some are saying the men might not even make it a week with Michigan coming to the YUM tonight.
 
MBB top rank has changed from, MSU --> Kentucky --> Duke --> Louisville in 5 weeks.
I don't think Louisville can take the #1 position too long.
 
It all depends on how you're playing at the end of the season. As I recall, in 2014 the UConn men were not ranked that highly for a lot of that season. They sure got hot for the tournament though.

IIRC they were a 7 seed. They had to win 5 games in a row to win the Big East and get the auto bid. Then 6 more in a row to win the NC. It was a special ride for sure!

UConn was in its first year in the AAC in 2014. They lost the AAC tournament final to Louisville and got an at-large bid as a #7 seed.

You're thinking of 2011. 5 in 5 at the BET in MSG with Kemba.

That's the legend, but they would have likely been an at large bid. That said, 11 games in a row most against ranked teams was an epic run. UConn has certainly had it's share of NCAA marquee games in both the men's and woman's programs.

(Even for games that aren't included in our respective signatures.)

True, but in 2014 UConn was a very heavy favorite on the women's side. Only need for one of the two teams to get lucky/hot.

Same thing happened in the "Kemba and the Kids" season.
 
I recall in 2014 the men were badly beaten by Louisville during the regular season, and then
again in the AAC tournament. Fortunately, Louisville was on the other side of the brackets
in the NCAA tourney and lost before UConn had to play them. Luck of the draw I guess.

No natty for the women in 2011. 2004 and 2014 were years we doubled.
 
UConn MBB, 2011 (32-9) with Kemba Walker and 2014 (32-8) with Shabazz Napier won the NC.

I understand that, I was just adding that the 2011 men's team also was not looked at a NC contender and then jelled at the right time and won a NC.

I don’t get the 2024 response. What is your reasoning as to why Maryland has a better chance than Louisville? From a WCBB perspective, UL trend has been much better than MD and from a Men’s perspective, UL has had stronger support, better history, better recent results and better name recognition for upcoming players.
I happen to think both schools are doing great but UL is more likely than UM. Baylor is a strong possibility as well as Stanford. UConn is an after thought until Coach Hurley proves he can take a team far into the tournament.
