If you are speaking from a basketball intelligence side, yes we want that, and we have one who just returned from the NBA draft to play one more year (Karaban).

But Spencer is so much more than just a smart player. A really different cat for the year 2024 at his age. Dude has never touched social media in his life, is hyper competitive, and has levels of focus and attention to detail that go so far beyond normal people. It has been an absolute pleasure having him here.

cam's competitiveness and drive isn't unique. it's shared with the staff and the organization. there's a mutual attraction by sharing a mindset of ambition and constantly trying to find the edge.

this isn't true with a lot of college programs where being good enough is comfortable enough. it's pretty psychotic/irrationally self confident but that's also what produces the drive to be best. culturally they are constantly trying to find guys with this mindset.

Although other players from last season’s team were more skilled, I will miss Cam the most this year. Hard to believe that he has never touched social media but good for him and his focus.

This is why I don't like the Mahaney comparisons, putting unrealistic expectations on him. I think he'll be great for us, but I don't think we'll see someone like Cam again.
