Bandwagon. oh geeze. here we go. I buy season tix every year. Thats not bandwagon. I choose to go grill a burger and drink a beer instead of watching us get our butts kicked. By the end of the 3rd quarter. If i'm putting palm to face, im outta there.

people buy the tickets, they can do whatever they want with them, regardless of what the "superfans" say. Come in late, leave early, sit on 3rd down - know what? Not your call.

They probably would appreciate us being lectured by someone in Florida.
Um lets see rays , bucs and lightning all have had bad and good years. I understand your plight. I also am looking foreword to flying up to the maryland game. The guys i go with have already asked me if we can just go out and drink after they watched the towson loss. But we arent. Itll be a fun day out

Oh please. If P went 10-2 this year you'd be gloating and throwing it in our faces. Eat your crow. You don't get to tell people not to take this so seriously and then chastise the fans who leave early or don't support the program. All from your comfy confines in FL.
If he goes 10-2 you everyone should be singing his praises , i wont have to gloat . Chastise fans? by pointing out that conferences we wish to be in are not impressed by our support. Dude you are backwards. the conferences care about what is going to make them money. Traveling fans and support is attractive to them. You should be on my side. Your hate for P has you and Whaler blinded. I do like P but agree the results haven't been there. If you think its ok to boo the team we see things differently. The season is not written off yet. We have two weeks to prepare for Maryland , I hope the issues are addressed and fixed, I will be there for the whole game good or bad.

You completely missed my point and created multiple strawmen in the process. You know who gets to lecture fans about going (and staying) to games? The people who go and stay for the entire games. Not some guy from FL who attends 1 game a year. I know exactly what conferences are looking for. I'm not one of the idiots who blames WM for not making some phone calls. I don't hate P. I've spoken with him a few times at some of these events. He's a nice guy and runs a clean program. I do hate what he's done to the program. You don't? I never made a comment about booing. I didn't boo and FWIW I don't agree with booing college kids. I'm glad you don't think the season is written off. I hope you're right. But you Pasqualista's haven't been right about anything in 2 years.

You missed the point. Hardly surprising.

Attendance is down in all sports across the country. I was listening to the radio the other day and even the Red Sox with their good season are not filling the bleachers. NASCAR attendance is down to the point where there is deep concern. But.... in saying that if UConn puts a good, exciting product on the field, promotes it right(how about some marketing down in lower Fairfield County please) they have a captive 3 million plus audience... at least. Come on Coach P, I believed in you...now it's time to produce.
Maybe we should have hired Bobby Valentine as the AD to cover Fairfield county.

We could have been coming off a 13-0 season and people would have left that mess early. Towson on Thursday.

We'll see vs. MD where this fanbase is. You would expect a loud Sat. night sell-out like the "old" days.
I don't know about that, we have 2 tickets in our group of 12 that are not going to be used and we don't have any takers.

The title of the thread sir. Im afraid u missed the point

I will spell it out for you. Southern football fans don't take Northern programs seriously. They would probably appreciate someone who is 1,000 miles away in Florida criticizing the people in the stadium.

It's beyond tiresome listening to people who aren't in the damned stadium.

There are many of us, or so it seems, that repeatably buy, usually with some trepidation, season's tickets. That doesn't mean that we give UCONN or the Athletic Department the right to demand that we sit through six or seven three-hour water boarding/Kool-Aid parties every year. Leaving early is a non-violent, civilized method of showing displeasure. So is not showing-up at all.

Booing the home team is another story. The southern half (Dad-Boston, Mom-Georgia) of my family tells me it's a no-no. Most kids of college football player age lack the social sophistication necessary to realize that the stadium full of people booing them are really mad at the coach. Plus, I hope there were no recruits visiting. And I really hope there were none accompanied by parents. College fans booing their own team is not a common occurrence. It's something a parent would pick-up on, and not like very much, pretty quickly. They might even leave-------early.

One could use the same logic and say that internet tough guys shouldnt be telling an athletic director and coach how to run a team

I for one, am of the school of thought that since I am the one who pays for my 4 seats every year, I will use them as I see fit. If I feel like leaving early, I will. It is just as simple as that. If there is something better that I want to do when the team is playing so poorly, it is my choice to manage my time. I do draw the line at booing the team though. I even find it offensive to boo the visiting young men when they run out of the tunnel at the beginning of the game and at the start of the second half. I will for sure be at the MD game. Since I am on vacation for the MI game, I will attend it if the MD game shows me something positive, if not I will not delay heading out of town for my my vacation until after the MI game, I will leave before it and enjoy myself vacating.

Agreed. As a busy adult I don't owe any one anything when it comes to my free time and money. If the product is brutal then I'm leaving or not even going to begin with.

I dropped $200 on a Knicks game against the Pacers two years ago, one of the noon Sunday tip offs. It was one of those games where Melo and JR Smith looked hungover and the team's effort was pathetic. Even after spending that much money I still left with a few minutes left.

The best lesson not to leave early is watching all the Heat fans trying to get back in the building after Ray sunk the three.

I suppose it is all our fault for continuing to buy tickets to this dumpster fire. Fool me once it is one you, fool me twice its on me, fool me a third time kick me hard. Can we trade our tickets and donation money for say seats at Jorgenson for a good show. Not coming back if he some how survives, too much heart burn even when they win. Had 2 tickets for all the years at the RENT which is turning into "Waste Management Field". Just does not look like football the way it is suppose to be played. Too much palm to the forehead saying WTF. And I'm just a football fan not a tactician like a number of other Bone Yarders.

I'm in search for a word to describe the blogger.

How can one call out the fans in attendance when that "fan" is not in attendance himself AND he presumably lives so close to the known not-sold-out-stadium?

Tool works for me...

Sure didn't make it clear enough in his initial post to the vast majority of people here eh?
