Let me get this right: Some dipsh!t watching on TV is criticizing the people who left the stadium.
Here is who gets to criticize the people leave. The people who stay.
Yeah the difference between Clemson Georgia and UConn is only the fans. Not the dozen plus NFL players on their rosters. If only we cheered louder Whitmer would turn into Boyd.
Hate to say it, but it's true. I still think one of the biggest factors in us being passed over by the so-called larger conferences is us only bringing 4,000 or so fans to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl. I understand it was an expensive trip and long flight and in many individual circumstances not do-able but I think the football nation noticed. I will say up through 2007 or 2008 fans stuck around much more than now. This is why our next coach needs to be someone who can bring excitement to the program in the form of a high octane offense...
The fans are underwhelming. Somebody watching on TV can shove it in his rear end.
The product is so bad I don't even criticize the people who leave early. I was glad there was no traffic. Ole Miss and Vandy was 5000x more entertaining when I got home.

AGAIN for the 8 millionth time, UConn had 10K-plus fans in Arizona. Only sold 4K of the 'Offical" highway robbery seats -- people here figured out pretty quick people who had to buy Fiesta bowl tickets to get BCS championship game tickets were basically giving away Fiesta tickets on ebay, stubhub, etc. One of the most untrue urban legends to come out of the game. First up close view of the naked greed of the BCS. So glad that Fiesta guy went to jail.
I understand the premise: UCONN fans need to change the negative perception that hangs over us across the country that we are entitled but don't show up to games (or arrive late and leave early). But I was at the Towson game until the bitter end, as evidenced by my avatar, and I watched thousands of people exit throughout the second half and couldn't blame them one bit. I was the only guy in my entire group of season ticket holders that sat in our seats for the whole game and I couldn't have cared less. That game was brutal. There was absolutely zero juice in the stands from the opening kickoff to UCONN's failed comeback to Towson running up the score at the end. Worse, there was no juice on the home team's sidelines or on the field. It's tough to get people excited and stay to watch games so dreadful. So, no, I don't blame people for wanting to leave the game early regardless if they needed to work the next day or not.
Leaving early and booing the team. Oh the power five must be impressed. We need to do better!
Well, I was there and Ruskin is right. There were way more than 4,000 fans. And then we lost. Big deal. Lots of teams lose by wider margins. Those who hated the mere fact we were involved in the game love to toss all kinds of gratuitous insults our way. I was proud of our effort and but for a few plays it was not that far from being a much closer game. What's happened long after that game has more to do with our current status than our experience in Phoenix.
Frustration is definitely understandable. We need to realize its one game and not take it so seriously.I'm a long-time season ticket holder and have never left early, but let me tell you my friend, last thursday night is the first time I ever felt ripped-off by UConn athletics, in a "I paid these people for this ??" sense.
