Do we have any recruiting ties to him whatsoever? Or is this another "this transferring guy would look good at UConn" thread? Just curious because I don't know myself.
 
Doubtful. Other than Diaco once playing and coaching in Iowa.
 
Only other tie I can think of is Kirk Ferentz played for UConn in the 70's.

But why would he help his alma mata(sp?)?

Unlikely scenario, but perhaps DJ Hernandez, current Iowa Grad Assistant Coach. However, wouldn't it be a conflict of interest to help a player move from one's current employer to his alma mater?

If the kid is being forced out, the classy thing to do is find him a soft landing spot. Ferents, DJ, Diaco. A lot of connections there. Longest of long shots but still worth seeing if he is an RKG.
