Calhoun's Win Count?

All of this Coach K to passing 900, Bob Knight, etc talk has got me thinking about Jim Calhoun's win count. A year or two ago I wouldn't have said this, but I think he definitely can pass Bob Knight in at least the next three years, right? I mean he got to 800 in 2009, won a few more that year, 18 the next, and probably at least 30 last year. So that makes only about 50 or so more wins...think this is a possibility? Thoughts?

I think he has 45 to go until he gets 900. 23 more this year, 22 next year. Sounds pretty doable.

You are way off. 47 wins in two years is the average for Calhoun's career (855/39= 22). That includes his 14 years at Northeastern. At Uconn he has averaged 24 wins per year.

Why think small?

He may not get to 902 if he gets #4 this year and Lamb, AD and AO all leave school early... although, that would be a great group of kids we'd be bringing back even w/o the lottery picks and he'd certainly enjoy coaching the guys who would be left...

If he does stay past this year, he'll pass Knight with ease next year...
