Did not want to discuss his future but it didn't sound like he's goin anywhere, he loves coaching too much. Loved coaching the team. Said the players fought themselves trying to find their roles. Alluded to fact that we did not have a take charge dominating player as we did last year. Nothing earth shattering, IS did things right, we didn't, they played 40 minutes, we didn't. We didn't play the way we had been lately which was disappointing. He was pretty calm. Did not see Napier, but I think Napier tried to take the blame. If that's the case I disagree. Let me tell you something.I love that kid, he has a huge heart and if we had 5 more of him we have no problems.

Bazz and Boat will be great next season. Hopefully Omar will be, too.

What else is he going to say at this point. Burn the tapes, hope for the best from the NCAA appeal, and figure out an offense that works with this group.

1) Calhoun won't leave until all the scholarship and tournament eligibility questions are behind us.

2) As much as this team frustrated me, you look at the team that's coming back and I just love them. Bazz, Boat, Scoe, Giffey, even AO despite his inconsistent play on offense. I just want them to succeed so badly. I'm willing to bet Calhoun feels the same way.

Just don't see that ha
Napier will be the take charge, dominating player next year. I am looking forward to it.

Just don't see that happening. As much as Nappier wants to be the leader, he doesn't have the trust and confidence of his teammates. I think that Boatright will be our next leader. Just my opinion.

I think Lamb was part of the impediment to Bazz taking charge and gaining the respect of his teammates. That impediment will be gone next year. As long as Boat and Bazz are on the same page, they will be a strong leadership duo.

Jim Calhoun is not going anywhere until the APR stuff is behind us, the practice facility is near completion, and a new successor is waiting in line. Book it.
What odds? I'm nowhere near as certain as you.

Hoping for solid play in the Post next year from somebody.

Getting the keys as a sophomore point is a tall order. Kemba made a tremendous leap from Sophmore to Junior. Expect Bazz to take a size-able step forward as well. Probably not the Kemba leap, but a leap none the less.

Bazz's struggles this year were not his ability to knock down a big shot, or get to the rim. He did both well tonight. Bazz's struggles were decision making and running the offense. Getting the ball to the right person at the right time. Game management, pace. He will develop these tools into next season and we will be a sweet 16+ team again (should we be allowed to compete).

Is it October yet?

I'm not so sure. I think that they need some sort catalyst for change. That said, these kids are winners. This has to suck for them, maybe worse than just not making the tournament. I hope it does. I hope it haunts them and fires them to push themselves. What was disappointing about tonight, and the season in general, was not the loss, losses happen but what really makes it tough to take is the overwhelming sense of missed opportunity. This team could have been so much better and it wouldn't have taken very much. A better commitment to defense. Less trying for the big play and more fundementals. Better ball sharing. Harder work off without the ball. All pretty basic stuff. Sigh.

Oh well, this year will just make the next championship all the sweeter.

With the APR situation it's different this year. Calhoun needs to consider things, then decide one way or another, pretty quick. I think he stays. I would let KO be co assistant head coach along with Blaney so KO can be more prominent and even coach missed games. He could announce it ahead of time.
