2026 Recruiting: Caden Pierce (Transfer) potential interest

.-.
He's not a spot up and shoot guy.
But you do want to up the athleticism right? How does a potential starting lineup of Demary/Ball/Landrew/Pierce/Reibe strike you in that regard? Assuming we bring back Ross and Stew and we stick with a 9 man rotation then the only players that can bring that athleticism are the backup PG and C.

Yes I want more athleticism. Pierce is a better athlete than AK and I want to bring in some more athleticism through the portal.

That’s a lineup way short on shooters. Great D but will struggle to score the ball since lanes will be clogged

I feel like 4 of those spots are inked. So you think we need a shooter at the 4?

Athletic enough to cover him only being 6'6"? Feel like that Demary/Ball/Landrew/Pierce/Reibe lineup would get exposed not having enough size at the 4 especially if Reibe isn't an elite rebounder

Pierce is an elite rebounder for his size, though.

I'm not super-sold on his recruitment. But I have'nt really watched him play.

Also, I thought there was talk about him joining a team midseason. Would've been nice for him to get a headstart on learning our offense a bit like AK did.

I am worried that losing Mullins and AK we would go to a more interior-dominant 4 man and replacing Mullins with Landrew, who is a good shooter but anyone is a downgrade from Mullins, would leave us short on shooters. And Pierce isn’t coming here to be a backup so we’d probably be using the portal for a Joey C-esque player to complement that returning 7

As far as his recruitment, it won't move the needle for me by much if we do or do not add him.

As far as his abilities, if Dan Hurley is told, I'm sold.

Definitely interested to see how next year's roster comes together post Karaban era. Having a 4 that could stretch the floor, run off screens, excel with off ball cutting opportunities, and hold his own on defense was such a luxury.

Yes someone tweeted it but then it was debunked as false.

I would think Stew would start at the 4 spot. I guess I wouldn't call him a shooter, but he's shown flashes.
That will be the question - does Dan Hurley feel JS or JR have starter potential? And if not, will they stick around?

Furphy hasn't quite unfolded as hoped.
