2026 Recruiting: Caden Pierce (Transfer) potential interest

His 3% is better than Solo….

Not all 3s are created equal. Adams just ticked up when he hit three in a row in garbage time down by 30 to get out of the teens. He made them - and that shows promise that he can be an ok shooter and get on a hot streak. But he’s basically shooting spot up threes at this point of his career whereas Solo is a primary option running around off screens who nobody helps off.

It was tongue in cheek…should have used an emoji….

I'm pretty ambivalent on this one. Numbers at Princeton are fine, but I'm looking for more from an ivy transfer if he expects to be a starter. I guess a lot depends on the and what other positions we expect to recruit
I think the idea would probably be a position battle with Stewart. If Stew makes a legitimate leap, he can start, but pierce has a high floor if we need him to start.

Does he start over Stewie. I don’t see it. Stew would be in year 4 in the system

Positional battles everywhere:
County v Furphy for backup SG
Landrew v Ross for starting SF
Pierce v Stew for starting PF

Demary, Ball, Reibe will be starting (hopefully). Also need a backup PG and backup C from the portal.

I’m sorry but Purdue? Really? The Edey to Smith era is ending, is Painter on the same level as Hurley? No way

Based on his list, I don't imagine he's coming cheaply. Though it does seem like winning is his top priority.

I just don't see why anyone would pay huge $$ for his services. I feel like he's benefitting from entering earlier than everyone else.

Undersized PF. I think A LOT of this is assuming her returns to his sophomore year production because junior year was pretty bland.

Yeah. He was Ivy League POTY as a sophomore. A year off to work on his game and get a year older could be a good thing (or he could be rusty). If he comes back with a jumper he could be a serious guy. It's often good to have 22/23 year olds with some accomplishments and coachability and a desire to win.

Agree with that. Probably gives us a bunch of $$ to throw at a superstar transfer too
Or to throw at a really good backup PG and backup C like Malachi and Reed? If we get pierce I don’t see where a superstar fits unless we lose either Silas, Ball, or Reibe and need to replace a starter

Demary / Transfer
Ball / County
Landrew / Ross
Pierce / Stew
Reibe / Transfer

Don’t pencil in Landrew to start. Move J Ross to backup 2. County probably won’t play. Now you have an open spot at the 3

Works for me. But pulling 2 starters and 2 backups out of the portal is a lot to ask for.

I'm curious how he could practice with UConn but still be enrolled at Princeton. Besides the fact he can't be in 2 places at once (could he take all his classes at Princeton online?). And then could he actually practice with them since all 15 spots on the team are taken? Sounds confusing.
Borges says he won't practice with a new team in the spring semester.

And while it's been reported that he could possibly practice with his new team for the remainder of this season, that appears to be false. Pierce will remain at Princeton to focus on his academics until he graduates.

Seeing Xavian Lee struggle at Florida makes me hesitant on Ivy League transfers, especially if he has a hefty price tag. That said, our 2-time championship PG was from ECU.

Xavian Lee is a small skinny dude. Not so much with Pierce or D Wolf who just had 22 for the Nets.
