Acceptance rate 47% (40% for 2012)

After trying to find something-anything-that Providence College is better at, I'm out of ideas.

"PC may have done many terrible things to your school over the years but they did not force you to chase the almighty football $" what does this mean to you? why was it said if you are not implying it was a reason the big east is where it is today?

Hockey and Cross Country, and location. I'm sure there are more but I'm not into playing this game right now.

In regards to acceptance rate. There is a big difference on who can afford what school. PC is unbelievably in the $50k club now. I'd be curious to see UConn's out of state acceptance rate. Anyway not try to get into a pissing contest. UConn is a great school, so is PC.

Yes I thought the NCAA portion would be assumed. I am referring to the NCAA Tournament Credits belonging to the Big East (Big East tournament credits).

Mr. Special, what I'm implying is that UConn is in the place they are today because of football. UConn is down the list a long ways on blame for the demise of the whole conference. Capiche?

Look dude, personally I think you're a decent poster and not a flamer like sean84 or whatever year he graduated kindergarten. But these are raw times for lots of people who are left with this mess. In Coming here you have to expect to take hits even at the best of times. So my advice is to be a big person and let our insults roll off your shoulders or wait for things to settle down. Unless you like to be insulted which is what you are getting. But that's not the type of person I think you are.

Who gives a s*** what we call our league? And why would the league's name have anything to do with the autobid? The NCAA has pretty simple rules for an autobid, and the C7 meet them while the NNBE does not. The NCAA may choose to make an exception (I would say it's even money), but it would have nothing to do with the name or what happens to the C7.
 
I sort of agree on the name thing. I mean use it as a bargaining chip but make no mistake about it, without Uconn and Syracuse the Big East is not the Big East.

1. You couldn't pay me to go to school in the neighborhood of Providence where PC is located.

2. Up until your March HET run last year, PC hockey is nothing to boast about for a LONG time.

3. Acceptance rate is not a statistic that is affected by the cost of tuition. That statistic would be percentage of student accepted who choose to attend.

You give yourself too much credit. You've sucked for most of the last 40 years. Which technically is covered by 10+, but 10+ really doesn't give an accurate representation of your sucktitude.

I would love this. I would love to keep the BE name just because I'm optimistic about UConn's future in bb and football and I want to rack up the BE wins at the expense of those who left. Maybe its petty thinking but why not. But B!G could win me over.
 
The Big Pope Conference deserves only what it negotiated and paid for. So if you want the name, pay up.

Unlike the boutique athletic programs of the Big Pope Conference, UConn and other athletic departments of the Big East decided to be more than just a basketball team with a school built around it.
