Ballots are due tomorrow (Sunday, March 12) at 4pm ET, about an hour after the conclusion of the Big 12 tournament. Note the change in day and time that will allow us to publish results well before the NCAA tournament selection show.
 
On Saturday morning before the Big 12 semis, my (Quad One minus losses) ballot would be:

1. SCar ( 15-0) +15
2. UConn (15-4-1) +10

3. Stanford (13-5) +8
4. VaTech (12-4) +8
5. Indiana (11-3) +8

6. Utah (11-4) +7

7. Iowa (11-6) +5
8. Maryland 11-4-2) + 5

9. Duke (29-6) +4
10. Notre Dame (9-5) +4
11. LSU (6-2) +4

12. Villanova (8-6) + 2
13. Ohio St ( 9-6-1) + 2
14. Oklahoma (7-4-1) +2 *********

15. UCLA (10-9) +1
16. Colorado (9-6-2) +1

17. Columbia (5-1-3-1) 0

18. Texas (7-5-3) -1*****************
19. Gonzaga ( 3-2-2) -1
20. Wash St (9-8–1-1) -1
21. USF (5-4-1-1) -1

22. UNC (8-10) -2
23. FSU ( -7-7-2) -2
24. USCal (7-7-2) -2
25. Mich (7-7-2) -2
 
......aaaand I got my timezones mixed up. Ballots are due at 5pm ET.

Iowa State and Texas are the two teams yet to play who have been receiving votes in the poll. If you'd like to avoid the tight deadline after the Big 12 Championship game, feel free to send your ballot early with a backup option depending on the outcome of the game.

I've been wanting to ask you all season: why don't you weight the losses differently? Shouldn't a quad 4 (or 3, or 2) loss be more damaging to a team's ranking than a quad 1 loss?

Also, do you actually feel your system reveals a deeper truth about these teams, or have you been trying it as more of a scientific thought experiment of sorts?

Because I started it one way and don’t want to change. Furthermore, if I weigh them differently it will cut the number of teams with positive numbers down to a handful. Heck, there are only about 16 now ( which is a good number) Still, I may do it next year. Right now I only use it for tie breakers.
