If Texas and company head West it would be appear we are quickly headed to 4 16-team conferences. Right now there are 14 open slots and by my count 18 teams. Please join in and keep this based on facts. It maddeningly complex.

My list of the 18 are. I have taken the liberty of identifying valid options.

Texas (PAC, B10)
TAM (SEC)
Mizzou (SEC, B10, ACC)
Baylor
Iowa St
Kansas
Kansas St
Oklahoma (PAC, B10)
Okl state (with OKL)
UCONN (ACC, B10)
WVU (SEC, ACC)
Rutgers (ACC, B10)
LouisVille (ACC)
Cinn
USF
TCU (SEC, PAC)
Boise State (PAC)
ND (B10 or Indy)

Who are the 4 left out? Did I capture everyone?

The least 4 appealing to me would be
iowa st
kan st
baylor
cincy ...I like cincy so this hard to say

I would speculate these 4 would be the new big east along with ECU and UCF and

Stinger-

I think you have to add BYU because of their football program.

Good catch on BYU, I was also thinking about Houston, but decided they were not really a player in the shuffle.

BYU would be in a tough spot if Texas and friends go to the PAC. No they end up for SEC, ACC and B10.

left out Texas Tech. and I'm not sure Boise State is really going to end up in a top conference.

So at least 20 teams for 14 spots. Boise is in the same position as BYU.

That leaves 6 guppies......

Left out:

Cincinnati
USF
Iowa State
Baylor
Boise State
TCU

Add: Texas Tech to the PAC-12 and believe it or not, Temple as #16 to the ACC.

Temple is interesting.....So if you take the Philly market then do you look to Rutgers or UConn. I'd go Rutgers then....

I don't think Temple's even a part of the discussion. No real support, got kicked out of purportedly the worst BCS conference and Rutgers bridges Philly and NYC

When Texas, TT, Ok and Ok State go the PAC, how does the B10 get to 16? I see ND and Mizzou. Do they stop there?
